if the Sox had a competent owner, Getz would be out of baseball where he belongs, not running a pro sports team

Mason Adams + Hays or Pereira + Boston Smith in the minors makes this team better than Castillo + Doyle for this season and future seasons. This isn’t that difficult to understand.

  • It’s so nice hearing DJ.

Look at the Cardinals not trying to hit HRs, just making contact...

Sox xwOBA leaders, past 14 days (not including today):

  • Braden Montgomery, .378 (actual wOBA: .250)

  • Tristan Peters, .335 (actual: .321)

  • Benny, .328 (actual: .312)

  • Colson, .325 (actual: .333)

  • Teel, .318 (actual: .350)

  • League average right about here at .309

  • Vargas, .293 (actual: .270)

  • Grichuk, .289 (actual: .414)

  • Antonacci, .287 (actual: .296)

  • Meidroth, .272 (actual: .263)

  • Mune, .242 (actual: .212)

  • Rogers, .143 (actual: .102)

Sox collectively are 2nd "unluckiest" team in that span but it's not by a lot; they are hitting below average and getting results that are a couple ticks worse than that. Lot of dudes treading water and the gap between what we want vs. what we get from Mune looms large especially since the only guy who is striking the ball at a really high level is Braden and he's come up completely empty in terms of results.

Very sad about the last run of games. Hard to watch them any more to be honest. I am trying to maintain positivity in my life and these losses just depress me.

Thank god Ishbia will save us

Just in time for a salary cap so we can't spend lavishly.

I can't believe I have to go to this game tomorrow with my Cardinals family and my kids I forced to be Sox fans who really don't care lol

Pretend to get kidnapped to get out of it, I would. I wouldn't pay a penny to watch this s%*# show in person.

I would take being even with everyone else though

At least Teel is hitting.

Great to see Teel get a hit off LHP.

With that said, I don’t think there will ever be a cap.

If you roll back to 30 days, Vargas jumps up to the top of the list with Braden right behind him although Braden getting heinous luck in that timespan too. Peters and Grichuk only others above league average over 30 days other than Drew Romo (RIP). Mune not quite as bad because that window includes the tail end of the heater he had in the middle of August.

Cardinals blow leads for fun. This game ain't over.

As long as they don't have to compete with Cubs Brewers and Cardinals in same division...

Probably not, but it really depends on how stubborn both sides are.

Do you think Braden will always have bad luck due to him hitting the ball on the ground at a decent velocity? I’ve seen a few routine groundouts that had high xBA from him

O'Brien not so much

More guys on base, more frustration incoming

We also blow chances to score for fun right now.

They press so much with RISP. That at bat was terrible

Wait, now he pulls Grichuk?

We have never been able to hit Stanek

Even down 7-2 we can't get a hit with a runner on 3rd

more unproductive plate appearances

Meidroth homer hunting every at bat now?
