if the Sox had a competent owner, Getz would be out of baseball where he belongs, not running a pro sports team

Mason Adams + Hays or Pereira + Boston Smith in the minors makes this team better than Castillo + Doyle for this season and future seasons. This isn’t that difficult to understand.

Outside splitter he tried to pull. Both him and Colson need a total revamp.

bunch of losers these guys are. As well as the hitting coach not switching s%*# up

Pitching has been terrible today as well

Do you think Braden will always have bad luck due to him hitting the ball on the ground at a decent velocity? I’ve seen a few routine groundouts that had high xBA from him

No I don't think so, there's almost nobody with a consistent differential between the expected and realized results. Most of those who do are guys with low-medium power but they pull it in the air all the time to sneak extra homers to the corner. Plus a few guys who play in pitcher's/hitter's parks that accentuate their tendencies. Grounders have such a low xwOBA that they are more likely to contribute to a guy having positive luck (when the grounders sneak through) than the other way around. We ultimately saw the early-season bad luck guy, Luisangel, snap right back to his expected stats. Chase and Tristan were the big positive luck guys and ultimately started falling back to earth. Regression to the mean comes for us all (but in this case, we hope it does for Braden)

I have absolutely no confidence in these guys even being competitive in Cleveland

Ofc their best pitcher LHP Messick is now scheduled for G3

at least the series isn't on the weekend or the crowds would be a huge factor

This went from don't get swept in Cleveland to they need to sweep to have a chance at the division.

It might feel that way after Castillo tmrw...he actually had great career numbers vs. the Pirates

"Luis Castillo has a career record of 6-8 with an ERA of 4.34 and has recorded 108 strikeouts in 20 appearances against the St. Louis Cardinals."

It's crazy that they tried to hide Castillo for nearly 2 weeks. The last time he pitched was September 3rd.

18 more in 15 games to tie Dunn

Mason Adams looming

seems they have given up

unfortunately two more weeks

no escape from the final Sunday plane ride back home

Best thing at a time like this is that this Sox team has really never been streaky one way or another. The good times never rolled quite as much as you'd like but the bad times were never too bad either. No way to know how they are going to look from one day to the next. Would be great to have one part of the team just take it upon themselves to kick a little ass tomorrow to take the edge off.

They've been resilient all season, but I can't see them digging themselves out of this hole. A game like today is probably one they would have won if this was June or July. They got guys on base, hit the ball hard, and just could not get the big hit. At this point, backing into the last wild card spot even seems iffy.

If you have early massive cojones, you bet big against the spread on Castillo/Sox tmrw...

And hope those guys who had $$$ on the AL Central title have cashed out early with a decent payout
