Just got back from SoxFest not too long ago. First off, I want to thank aboz56 for hooking me up with his extra tickets today, we an awesome time.

It was cool to see aboz and Steff(at least I think it was her) as questions to KW. Things apparently didn't get as heated today as they did last night, but it was still a little testy at times.

I actually got to talk to Jose for awhile near the Grandstand booth. He was very receptive and said he doesn't care about trade talks, when another fan asked him.

I don't post here a whole lot, but always enjoy reading what everyone has to say. Keep it up.

If all goes well a pic of me(not so flattering) and Black Jack should be attached.

That's Jack McDowell

damn, apologies for my ignorance...the mohawk threw me off..i just assumed it was Shoeey cause i remember him coming over with a new mohawk as a joke to his Angel teammates, then he was traded the next day...

I don't think Jack is going for the mohawk look......

Hey BTW who made you King of the Mods?  If that is the case I should be the "Emperor" or "Dictator of the Mods"

is that "DICKtator of the Mods"?

:P

And the bad thing is you won't even get to see this until you're back from SoxFest. Hope you're having fun in the bar (checkin' the watch, and you ought to be good and smashed by now, it's 11:30.)

I'm headed out there tomorrow, should be quite fun. If any of you wanna meet up...just tell me.

ChiSox.com has a few pictures of the Sox Fest on the home page.

Yeah, I was good and smashed by then  Good times, and plenty of great stories.

To those of you who have been there before, how much is it to get a jersey customized with a name and number? Because I have a blank black jersey and want to get "Thomas" or "Lee" on the back.

$30 usually, unless that particular jersey has extra patches to go with it, then it is $40. And do not wear it before hand if you want it done. Bring it clean and unworn or they will not do it.

The highlight for me with Black Jack this weekend was when he was playing guitar with Twist and Shout, and he forgot a bunch of the words to the song he was playing.

I wanted to add something about my experience at Soxfest to the bratwurst of merged threads---

Friday Night I got up to Soxfest at about oh, 5:15. Anyway, at about 5:40 the fans behind me were let in, and we should have stampeded after arguing with Security. Got in, got my brothers in the Guillen + Cora line while I got pictures. My father went into the seminars and listen to the 'infamous' Question and Answer session with White Sox General Manager, Kenny Williams. Any who, I got all the autographs, went shopping and got the "CHOKED" hat. I found a "CUBS SUCK" hat near a water jug, and being the good soul I am, I brought it to lost and found. After that, being about 9:00 I got Aaron Rowands autograph. When I was going up to the room, I saw Kenny Williams going downstairs with Gary Peters. The funny thing is, I asked Kenny Williams if I could buy him a couple of beers if I could ask him a few questions with him. He responded yes, and said at 10:00 he could be available in the lobby. In the elevator, Rick Hahn (SP?) was there and I said "Man, such anger at the question and answer session." He said "No, they are just passionate about the team." When my brothers and dad were settled in, I went downstairs, and Willie Harris was drunk with the Ushers who were at Soxfest for assistance. I asked him to autograph my brothers game used bat card, in which our other one was already signed, and I compared the autographs...he was definatly drunk. As for the Kenny Williams thing, I am going to post the Q & A's, so please look for it. Poor Estey, he was sitting down to eat when he was mugged. I got my jersey signed. I also saw Jose, but he went upstairs with his wife. Thigpen avoided me and my party, so I went upstairs. Saturday was not as important, but I got Carlos Lee's autograph. It was a great weekend, especially for the 163 dollars I spent on it for my fathers Christmas present.

Today was great. I got Loaiza's autograph on an all-star ball and he signed it "2003 AL Starter" Also got a personalized sig from Crede. A $5 1983 hat, $10 game broken Jeff Liefer bat, that's right, Jeff Liefer! Great day now capped off by the Super Bowl.

Haha my friend tried to talk me into buying that liefer bat, but I managed to stay away from it.

Yeah, I bought my dad his favorite autograph-Kenny Lofton---don't remember how much it was b/c i got a special deal...Brook Fordyce too, and even Josh Paul, but just because it was cheaper than buying an 11.00 ball downstairs for autographs...5.00 each...not bad, IMO

I want to "ditto" everyone elses comments on how nice it was to meet those of you I didn't know. One specifically is quickman. Caught completely off guard, we started a conversation before the Saturday Q&A and shared our thoughts on Harris, Friday's events.. etc. The best part was his uncle who reminded me so much of my grandfather who was always sure to make sure he was heard :D . Quick you left so fast I didn't get a chance to tell you.. but thanks.

We had such a great time all 3 days, and I even made up with Kenny yesterday before we left  He knew where I was coming from, and he agrees that some things are better left unsaid but admitted he's got a "quick tongue".

Overall it was a great weekend. Especially loved to see SN and WSI posters getting along :headbang :cheers

I have a ton of pictures but I was beat last night and didn't get a chance to DL them from the camera. Hopefully I'll do that Tuesday night and share them.

And how to strike out so many times as well. ;)
