This guy was a long shot to make it, in fact I could care less about him. This has no bearing at all on the dodgers issue. I said it wrong. I think KW will be even more desperate and accept a low-ball offer from the Dodgers. We don't even have a solid #3 starter. Garland can be good, but he is too inconsitent.

You beat me to it. I want more. We shouldn't dodge our problems by pointing out the flaws of other teams. I'm not saying Robert Person is the second coming of Christ, but this season is not looking too good if we are running out of options for our pitching staff.

Ok good point, however, do you really think Person going down actually hurts us in this situation? What do you propose we do to compete with the Yankees, Red Sox, Angels, and A's rotations? You are talking about the some of the best in the league there. There just aren't that many good pitchers in the league. We have to hope we can develop Garland and our other young guys like Honel and Cotts. We have to grow our own, we can't spend like the Yanks, Red Sox, and Angels.

i'm not too upset about it. it would have been nice to give him a chance, but no big loss. i saw burkett's name come up earlier, why not give him a shot. at this point it probably won't take a lot of cash to sign him. i think he could get 10 wins and eat up some innings at the back of our rotation. he would be no worse than scho, cept he's a righty. plus he's a veteran and might teach someone a thing or two.

All this does is take away one possibility from the mix of goes who might step up and supply us with some quality starts. I hope this all turns out to be a false rumor though.
