April 4, 200421 yr Interesting article on Borchard if anyone wants to read it... http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/mlb...s_mlb&fext=.jsp
April 4, 200421 yr Joe is so incredibly baseball smart. Even if he couldn't make it as a player, I would be willing to bet he would be an incredible hitting coach.
April 4, 200421 yr I hope that now that the buzz is centered around Reed at Charlotte that Borchard will do better with less pressure on him. I just hope that when the Sox call him up next (whenever that is) that he won't be stepping in to replace a struggling player. The lower his expectations the better at this point in time.
April 4, 200421 yr yeah, now that the eyes are off of him i wonder how he'll perform...that whole billy beane thing...
April 4, 200421 yr I think Borchard is going to put it together this year. He was getting some good swings when healthy this spring.
April 5, 200421 yr I feel confident that Joe will figure it out this year. Maybe it was a bad thing that he was so good so quick. He'll be alright though. I expect to see him with the big club this year...
April 5, 200421 yr I thought they would put him in extended spring training to make up for conditioning but i hope he helps out the Charlotte Knights really quickly...With Reed and borchard up at AAA and the Winston Salem OF...we got some darn good outfielders, most out of one draft...
April 5, 200421 yr I am not sure why, but I have this bad feeling that Jeremy Reed will disappoint this year.......
April 5, 200421 yr I am not sure why, but I have this bad feeling that Jeremy Reed will disappoint this year....... ditto.... alot of pressure on this kid. I think he gets a call up regardless.
April 5, 200421 yr I am not sure why, but I have this bad feeling that Jeremy Reed will disappoint this year....... I don't think he'll get off to the best start at Charlotte because I still think he's worried about his wrist. But I think by June he'll start putting it together and earn a call up.
April 5, 200421 yr I am not sure why, but I have this bad feeling that Jeremy Reed will disappoint this year....... The guy had flown under the radar his whole short career. This is the first time that the spot light is squarely on this guy. It wouldn't surprise me if he struggled to start the season at all, but I get the feeling he will still end up over .300.

Last year he had Jo Bo and he struggled, will this happen to Reed this year?
April 5, 200421 yr I think it´s the Avatar jinx of Jason. Last year he had Jo Bo and he struggled, will this happen to Reed this year? Good theory... Hey Jas make a Kerry Wood or Sammy Sosa avy and see what happens.
April 5, 200421 yr He's gonna kick some major ass, everyone watch and see. From what I've heard.. I agree with this 10000%.
April 5, 200421 yr From what I've heard.. I agree with this 10000%. Yep. JoBo is gonna turn some heads this year... in Chicago!
April 5, 200421 yr I don't care. Trade him and get them a damn pitcher. It is the classic formula, sell what you have excess of and buy what you need. Our corners are solid ths year, but center is a guess.
April 5, 200421 yr Good theory... Hey Jas make a Kerry Wood or Sammy Sosa avy and see what happens. Would prefer one of Brad Radke then, if he struggles this yr the Twinkies ain't going nowhere.
April 5, 200421 yr I am not sure why, but I have this bad feeling that Jeremy Reed will disappoint this year....... Yeah, I agree with you. Think about it though, even if he bats .300-.310 it's a disappointment. He isn't going to bat .400 again, at least I don't think he will.
