Sox general manager Ken Williams said last week the thought of trading Ordonez at some point this season hasn't crossed his mind. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...home-headlines1

June 2, 200421 yr If we can get Scott Kazmir, David Wright, Peterson and Mike Cameron for Aaron Rowand and Maggilo Ordonez, I'd do that deal straight away.
June 2, 200421 yr Mike Cameron is only good when he plays against us.....so no thanks Cameron would giv us some more speed and pop in the outfield, although his average worries me, he'd hav to hit around .260 to be a success, he'd hav that chance at the Cell. Still I'd think, he'd veto any trade to the White Sox if he could. Kazmir and Wright are the two we'd definitely be tragetting in a trade, especially in light of Joe Crede's recent struggles at the plate.
June 2, 200421 yr Author Correct...if we get someone other than a pitcher it better be a LH bat or a switch hitter whose better side is the LH side (like Everett)
June 2, 200421 yr I'd love to have Cameron. But we really need a left handed hitter. J.D Drew was one lefty hitter we'd both like to see acquired to the southside. Still I think a more likely option now is Steve Finley, he slugged 2 more homers today, leads the league with Pujols now I think. With Arizona already 11 or 12 games behind LA, and Sexson on the shelf for the year, we should go afta Finley.
June 2, 200421 yr Author I would love Finley....but that means Crede will have to sit come playoff time....which is fine with me Uribe will play 3rd B in the playoffs, Willie at 2b This lineup would be awesome come playoffs Willie H Uribe Frank T Maggs Finley (to break up all of our RH bats, this would be a good spot for him) C Lee Valentin (break up the righties again) Paulie K Olivo If a LH pitcher is starting the game (eg Mulder), then we sit Valentin and let Crede play

Considering our minor league depth, he may be the best bet value wise.
June 2, 200421 yr I would cream in my pants if we got, Finley. He's having a monster year and would be the left handed power bat we've lacked for 4 years. Add to that he's got post-season experience.

June 2, 200421 yr I want Maggs in a White Sox uniform for his entire career. Like Frank has been through the 1990s, Maggs will be for the next 10 years. He is very marketable in Chicago, and will be an All-Star for many years to come. Build the team around him.

I like it like that! :fthecubs and :fthemets
June 2, 200421 yr I never thought that he would of denied that kind of money anyway. I only said if he had we should of traded him....
June 2, 200421 yr This all was a fabrication so that there would be contraversy between the two sides and thus Maggs would be angry at the Sox and the Sox would be angry at Magglio. This is just some Mets people who want to start a ruckus so that they can get Maggs in a trade or via free agency. No one turns down $14 million a season, when the best player at the position, who is also a 5-tool player doesn't make that much. If Vlad makes $14 million than Maggs is right at $12-13 million. Although, we will overpay if we re-sign maggs, but to keep him year is huge boost to the White Sox and other free agents and our in-house players.
