I hope anybody that throws a ball back onto the field gets escorted from the park (probably necessary for their own safety) and arrested.

I can see escorted from the park, but arrested??

The last I checked, it was illegal to throw things on the field. Considering it's against the law, arrest should be consider a very possible consequence. Fascism, my ass.

be that as it may, I still wouldnt see the need for someone to be arrested for throwing the opponents HR back onto the field...

Its not like they throw them at the players (Obviously not because YOUR team would be in the field)

They arent trying to harm anyone.. I just think arresting someone for that would be a little extreme where as I can see being escorted from the park..

You know, any 7 year old kid would be thrilled to get a HR ball hit by any major league ballplayer. If you don't want the ball, why not make some kids day? I don't understand this Cubbyish obsession with throwing the ball back.

I would keep the ball no matter who hit it because it is most likely a once in a life time thing.

Some lady in St. Louis last weekend, got hit by two different foul balls in the same game. Once in the neck early in the game, and then in the head during the 9th. Her boyfriend sure failed the "can you protect me" test. :D

Still the chances of getting a ball twice in your life let alone in one game are not to good.

You said "Yes, he is"

and then quoted my statement about how that makes me heartless and only caring about myself.... then you went on to say you would throw it back on the field too if criteria were met..

I just dont understand what the "Yes,he is" meant...

Ignore it.

When writing the post I had something else typed, deleted it, and started over. The first line "yes he is" doesn't infer to you being "heartless." My mistake; failed to notice the phrase was still included after finally replying.

Everything beyond that point is my true belief. :usa

I don't understand this Cubbyish obsession with throwing the ball back.

It transcends Wrigleyville.

It's the ultimate act of defiance, a giant f***-you to the Man, to say nothing of the actual no-talent assclown who hit it out and is rounding the bases. It is we, the fans, who have the last laugh on the matter. Arhhhh....

Very Sox-ian in spirit -- the practice has been hijacked by the Northsiders for far too long. Time to reclaim it. :headbang

And I should give a flying f*** about what you think I ought to do with the ball why again?

:huh

You should throw the ball back if you want to.

And then you should be ejected for throwing an object onto the field of play.

Wherever that happens, it's asinine. I.M.O., of course....flying f*** and whatever.

Not telling you what to do, just saying what anyone who does that should expect.

If I had a dollar for every time I saw an opposing hitter get upset about a fan throwing away a free souvenir.......................................I'd have zero dollars.

Shouldn't you be in the game day thread inflating your post count?

I have a serious question, do high post counts really piss people off. I mean it's not like i am here just saying stupid ass things that make no sense.

Damn right.

Not a single tear was noticeable (last night) when Garret Anderson witnessed his HR thrown back onto the field.

I honestly have no problem with your posts, or that of any individual who has a high post count.

Merely ribbing you. :D

It's not about the hitter, but about me. I think it's neat. But if the hitter gets pissed off or if some conformed block-headed white trash doesn't like it? It's a bonus, isn't it?

I see no value in a baseball hit by an opposing batter, anyway.

I only got to do it once, but will do it again for sure if I ever get a chance to. Which I will. Hopefully, without legal reprecussions. :headbang
