10 out of 10...oh ya.  Now give me one of my old calc tests and I doubt I'd get 1 right.  I just remember that we did derivitives, I don't have a clue how the hell to do them anymore.

Isn't it where you take the exponent multiplied by the coefficient and subtract the exponent by one?

 

I'm not sure...few months since we did them.

And the shorter route rectangle. Isn't the distance he will walk 800 ft vs. 1,000 feet? How is 290 feet correct?

a^2 + b^2 =  c^2

 

1600 + 3600 =sqrt5200

 

sqrt5200 = 721.1

 

1000-721=279

The only reason I missed that one is because I didn't have a calculator to figure out the square root of 52. I guessed what it would be close to, and I said seven. Wait I minute, I must just not have subtracted the number from 1,000. :angry:
