idont know about the rest of you but it seemed like when valentin went out and uribe and willie started earlier in the year we really had lots of momentum and me personally wouldnt mind seeing those 2 start next year at 2nd and ss and we upgrade in other positions.... both are cheap as hell 2.

 

maybe sign odalis perez or something and then get JD Drew i know he is a boras client but damnit we can sign a boras client every team thinks they cant sign boras clients(except yanks) but they obviously do or the guy wouldnt have a job so id like us to make a run at him... id much rather have him then beltran 2 and he shouldnt be as much as beltran

While I dream a sweet pipedream of Edgar Renteria, I realize that will NEVER happen, so I'm interested in seeing some of Wilson Valdez this month and in Spring Training. Hopefully, he can make the SS situation interesting and competitive.

Renteria-type money would probably be better spent on pitching anyway.

Personally I'd rather see Cabrera. While Renteria is better offensively, I don't think he's a major upgrade (althoguh Cabrera is having a down year). However both are good defensively, Cabrera is a bit better, but most importantly if the BoSox let him walk (dont' ask me if they will) then I think he would be a good pickup, but I'd most like to see the Sox spend money on pitching.

 

Its also obvious they need top of the order guys and I don't think Renteria is a 2 hitter, but I guess you could do it. Its just to me, he's gonna get 8 mill and his production doesn't warrant that. He can't be as good as he was in St. Louis, when he loses all that protection. He's good, but I don't know about 8 mill good.

ive suggested this almost all season long, but not many have listened, because ive hated valentine for years now.

His time here is defenitely over, especially at 5 mil a season. I think Uribe and WH can handle the chores on the infield. Now if we could get a better 3d baseman or at least someone who can teach Joe Creded how to hit we'll be all set.
