September 8, 200421 yr This is a winnable game. Garcia comes back, hopefully to some success, and after Kenny Rogers, the pitching is pretty weak for Texas.

September 8, 200421 yr Author How many games left..?...25 or so. I say Freddy has at most 6 starts at least 4 left. I say he pitches 3 more and is probably shutdown, depending on how "injured" he is and if he is 100%. If his "injury" is semi-serious then yeah, I'd shut him down tomorrow.

Proceeding his second start Garcia will report arm stiffness and Ozzie will grudgingly accept the fact Sox are out of contention. In my mind I have a scenario played out where Garcia pitches 85 pitches tonight and 110 his next start. At that point Hawk will continue his quest as JR/KW mouthpiece and claim pitchers need to "Toughen up," while dismissing any blame towards Guillen for starting Garcia the remainder of a worthless season.

September 9, 200421 yr Why, oh why, does Ozzie continue to play Timo and Jose? This should be a time to let Valdez, Borchard, Uribe, etc. show what they can do while getting experience. It seems like every other team has no problem realizing this.
