September 27, 200421 yr everyone here has been debating whether you trade Lee or Konerko? For curiousity sake, I ask.. why not trade both? That would leave some serious $ available for the FA market and the Sox could reload the minors with the talent they've traded away over the past 2 years.

That would leave some serious $ available for the FA market and the Sox could reload the minors with the talent they've traded away over the past 2 years. We are a 4th place team at best without Maggs, Pauly, and CLee. Unless we got huge talent in return to replace them, this franchise would be done. This team wouldn't draw a million fans if they replaced those guys with just minor leaguers. Plus what top flight FA would want to come to a team that just gutted all of its best players?

Both Lee and PK have their strengths. Yet both have their weaknesses that make them a questionable fit for the team the Sox seem intent on building---Lee his baseball instincts and his seriousness, PK for his streakiness, defense and lack of speed.

September 28, 200421 yr It seems like a lot of people want to trade anybody on our team that can produce. Like most of you said, if we trade them all we're screwed. We've proven we cant win w/out Maggs and Hurt. Take away Paulie and Lee and Valentin's power and we're the Royals.
