Jim Mecir is a FA -- no arbitration offered by the Athletics, too.

What do you guys think?  If we can get him for about a million, would ya sign him?

From Rotoworld:

If he does not retire i would be all for it.

Just want to note Matt Morris got a 2.5 million dollar deal. Very good value signing, imo. Kevin Millwood will probably get a similar contract.

Millwood as number 3 with that deal.. I take it in a heartbeat.. better than throwing money down the drain on Wright (FOR ONCE I AM HAPPY THE YANKEES GOT A FA)

Pending a physical, ALfonseca will be getting a 2 year deal worth $4.75 million from the Marlins.

Woody willaims got signed by the padres, 1 year with an option for 2006.

Morris for that money would have been a great deal. Millwood would be ok as well, but the Cards made a good move resigning Morris.

DBacks and Troy Glaus have agreed to a deal, 4 years 45 million.

Woody willaims got signed by the padres, 1 year with an option for 2006.

MUHAHAHAHAHA!!! I don't want to hear another Scrub fan state they have the best rotation in baseball in 2005. Top to bottom, Peavy, Lawrence, Wells, Woody and Eaton are the best 5 in the NL, hands down.

Pads also signed Geoff Blum from the D'Rays, AND, get this, are talking to the Mariners about trading Klesko, Burroughs and a lower-tier prospect for Winn, Spezio and JEREMY REED!

Geeze...Jeff Kent 2 yr 17 million. Am I the only one who thinks they drastically overpaid. Kents a solid ballplayer, but he's not an 8.5 mill a year guy anymore.

Makes the Jermaine Dye move oh so much sweeter :)

Bad news. The Padres signed Eric Young to a 1 year $1 mill contract, with a $850,000 option for 2006.

Why is this bad news?

Why is this bad news?

He could have platooned with willie because he can actually hit lefties. He might have also been able to help willie with stealing bases.

Why is this bad news?

Because he was a guy to look at to fill our infield hole, the only other real alternative on the market is Miguel Cairo, unless you want to settle for Royce Clayton or Craig Counsell.

Hopefully if we don't have enough money to sign Polanco, Cairo will be the guy that Kenny picks up, I'd love to have Miguel on this club.

Kevin Appier signed a minor league deal with the Royals.

Just giving you guys this list because these are the ones not updates yet.

Yeah I haven't updated pretty much since my computer troubles....

I think everyone knows about the Free agent tracker now -- http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/freeagents

Go ahead and keep posting when a new player is signed, because I still don't catch all of them, and I'm sure there are others who can't possibly catch them all either, but I'm not even going to attempt to keep our list updated now. Let that job fall to somebody who's got more time on their hands , or is actually getting paid.

The Red Sox have come to terms with David Wells on a two-year contract for a guaranteed $8 million, the Boston Globe reports.

Under the terms of the agreement, Wells would receive a $3 million signing bonus and have a base salary of $2.5 million in 2005 and 2006. He also would have the opportunity to earn an additional $5 million in performance bonuses in each year of the contract. Dec. 11 - 3:55 am et

...at the ripe old age of 83. :D

According to ESPN's Peter Gammons, the Red Sox have signed left-hander John Halama to a one-year, $1 million contract.

As a reliever -- and that's what he's certain to be in Boston -- Halama is a fine one-year signing. He had a 2.46 ERA in 44 innings out of the bullpen last season and a 2.64 ERA in 136 1/3 IP over the last three years. He can also be a spot starter when needed, but his record in the rotation leaves much to be desired

What the f***? Are the Red Sox going to try and buy everyone on the market this offseason?
