Dye and SS

Featured Replies

Well guys i like the Dye move,BUT i think KW needs to get off his ass and land us a SS either Cabrera or ER,Whats the odds we can sign Odalis Perez,Cario, and get Vazquez(lose Konerko and Garland) Or Tim Hudson(konerko Garland)?

But i still believe we need more speed and a left handed bat (Delgado)

Cabrera SS-or ER

Rowand CF

Thomas Dh

Delgado 1B

Lee LF

Dye RF

Cario 2ND

Crede 3RD

Big Ben C

I know thats a pipe dream :cheers

With Juan Uribe in place their is no one else on the market the Sox should pursue. Uribe is the equal of every SS on free agent on the market why waste money?

Edgar.Renteria.

And Hawk, if we get Renteria, move Uribe to either 2nd or 3rd if either Crede or Harris falters. HUGE insurance.

Whoa dude. Get a grip on reality. Renteria and Delgado? Whatcha been smokin'?

Seriously if we sign Cairo then that makes us a great team.

If we sign another solid starter without giving up Garland (I.E. No Felix Diaz or Jason "The Puke :puke " Grilli) then we are the front runners in the central.

those moves alone wouldn't make the sox favorites. more needs to be done to diversify the sox lineup

 no kidding.

Minnesota is the front runner for the central until someone proves otherwise.

I think that the White Sox are the frontrunners right now.

Not till they prove they can win the damn thing, they aren't.

No way. The Twins will be the frontrunners for the central until some other team clinches the division in 2005---which prob. will be Sept. 2005.

year in and year out we have had the potential but for the most lacked the performance...

why i would like renteria right now our greatest need after the dye signing is a SP hopefully either perez or clement off of FA.

I don't think you should have to win the division the previous year to be considered the frontrunner the next. Our team now is already better than last year's opening day team.

I think the most possible SS for us to get right now is ER.

I hope we make a run at him.

i said CABRERA cause he cheaper BUT ER would be NICE!!!!!!!!!! :lolhitting

With Juan Uribe in place their is no one else on the market the Sox should pursue. Uribe is the equal of every SS on free agent on the market why waste money?

Uribe as good as Renteria? WOW! I have no problem with Uribe, but going into the season with a SS/2B combo of Uribe and Harris is a huge drop off from a combination of Renteria and Uribe.

yeah with renteria here it makes uribe a super sub which i think is something he can thrive in doing and it keeps everyone else getting good playing time like crede and willie..

when we're talking about the entral wath pout for cleveland

That sentence makes my brain hurt.

He's speakin' the jibba jabba, foo!

I like Uribe but he has never put together a consistant season. He had the SS job in Colorado and played his way out of it. Until a guy proves he can do it, you never know if the can do it.

The other concern in the back of my mind is his build was so freaking big last year. I know nothing, and have heard nothing but this guy is built like the Dominican Republic's answer to Charles Atlas. I saw his parents at a Sox game last fall, and they look like regular people, nothing like Juan's chest and arms. In view of the present scandels and on coming crack down, will he be as strong as last year? I have no facts, but his body is almost too good to be true.

He is an unproven commodity, no way equivelent to either Renteria or Cabrera, and if he's that solid why did KW try so hard for Vizquel? This doesn't mean he won't be OK, a lot of folks thought Aaron Rowand would never be more than a 4th outfielder and he turned out pretty good, so it could happen. But he has to earn that kind of respect by playing well day after day first.

You must've never heard of Edgar Renteria.

Minnesota has had a grip on this division since 2001. They haven't done anything this off-season so far, besides losing Guzman that can be a weakness to their team. They get Joe Mays back in their rotation too I believe. They should be the favorites and deserve to be until someone from this division can prove they can knock them off. The White Sox may have a better team on paper, but that doesn't they're going to have a better team where it counts most. The Standings.

Can I just ask what people would prefer?

Door #1 - Edgar Renteria for 4 years at $10 million.

Door #2 - Miguel Cairo for 2 years at $2 million, and a trade for Javier Vazquez or the signing of Odalis Perez for 3 years $20 million.

Door #3 - Placido Polanco for 2 years at $4 million, and the signing of a cheaper starter like Paul Byrd.
