December 11, 200421 yr cbssportsline's Scott Miller reported that Jaret Wright flunked his physical with the Yankees because of a shoulder problem. http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/story/7988141 Meanwhile, there appears to be a mysterious holdup in the Jaret Wright deal with the Yankees. Wright last week agreed to terms on a three-year, $22.5 million deal, but reports are that his shoulder didn't pass the Yankees' stringent physical examination. Maybe the Sox aren't so stupid after all
December 11, 200421 yr They were smart for not offering him more than 5-6 million for him in the first place.
December 11, 200421 yr Omar Vizquel failed a physical last season too -- he then put up a .291/.353/.388 season.
December 11, 200421 yr Omar Vizquel failed a physical last season too -- he then put up a .291/.353/.388 season. Maybe a break for us? If it's nothing TOO serious, I wouldn't mind giving him four-five million over two years...
December 11, 200421 yr Maybe a break for us? If it's nothing TOO serious, I wouldn't mind giving him four-five million over two years... I was thinking the same thing, but if its his shoulder it could be a waste of money. I still think the Yankees may have buyer's remorse because they are rumored to sign Pavano and Milton, will probably land RJ and can't give Kevin Brown away. With Mussina still in pinstripes that doesn't leave much room for Wright. Hopefully, after all Wright has been through with the injuries, this isn't anything too serious.
December 11, 200421 yr Maybe Jaret might be willing to sign a one year deal at like 3 mil to prove that he's really healthy.... It might be something worth looking into if our doctors think he's ok to pitch...
December 11, 200421 yr Mike Sirotka failed a physical and never pitched again. stay away from Jaret. he's damaged goods, who has already missed major time with injuries. the Braves haven't won 13 straight titles being stupid. There is a reason they are letting him walk.
December 11, 200421 yr Maybe a break for us? If it's nothing TOO serious, I wouldn't mind giving him four-five million over two years... It's so nice that you are willing to part with someone else's money.
December 12, 200421 yr Honestly I wouldn't mind signing him if he can pass a physical with our team. However I wouldn't give him anywhere close to what the Yanks almost gave him...
December 12, 200421 yr More lucky than stupid. Lucky not to offer a one year wonder 7+ million a year? I don't think so.
December 12, 200421 yr Lucky not to offer a one year wonder 7+ million a year? I don't think so. No, lucky that someone else did!
