December 15, 200421 yr http://money.cnn.com/2004/12/14/news/fortu...dex.htm?cnn=yes The measures taken this week, however, were not directed at individuals who download movies. Instead, the targets were people who act as conduits between downloaders and three specific "peer-to-peer" file-sharing technologies: BitTorrent, eDonkey, and DirectConnect. It's sounds like the MPAA isn't gonna bend over and take it anymore. It sounds like lawsuits will be next.
December 15, 200421 yr Can't really say it's suprising, it'll be interesting to see what happens though.
December 15, 200421 yr Author I can't help but think 5 years from now I'll look back on BT the way I look back on 1999 and Napster now. Get your movies while they last (not that I would ever condone such illegal behavior )

December 15, 200421 yr Exactly... We thought it was over after Napster... I went and got Audiogalaxy....Kazaa...and now I'm on Limewire that was obvious from the beginning. as soon as they get rid of one, another good one's gonna pop up, can't they realize that they're just not gonna win.
December 15, 200421 yr How successful will they really be? The RIAA still hasn't successfully sued anybody.

Suprnova is my source for foreign films.
December 15, 200421 yr Author Since I can't afford DVDs for most TV shows, it's time to move up my DVD writer purchase.
December 15, 200421 yr I don't generally download movies. I have no time to watch them and if I do want to watch a movie I can just rent it real quick. Music and PC Games here.
December 15, 200421 yr Wow, never heard of Bit or Lime. I guess now would be the wrong time to jump onto that train. No biggie, my buddy uses Netflix much like most people use those sites. You should see the size of his DVD collection!!!
December 15, 200421 yr I use Usenet archives. All sorts of crap there and with the right provider, no way of tracking what you downloaded.
December 17, 200421 yr Bit Torrent may be going down. My favorite torrent sitem Phoenix Torrents, is gone now. I wonder how long Suprnova will last...
December 17, 200421 yr Bit Torrent may be going down. My favorite torrent sitem Phoenix Torrents, is gone now. I wonder how long Suprnova will last... Yeah I saw that yesterday, not good.
December 17, 200421 yr Also the torrent site i visit TorrentBits.org is down as well. Coincidence?? Edit: heres a list so far of what has been known to be targeted. List
December 17, 200421 yr Author Suprnova is not hosted in America and it's not a "tracker" so I don't think it will be going down. Edit: Nevermind looks like non-American sites are being targeted as well. Still if all the trackers are dead, it won't matter if Suprnova is up or not.
December 20, 200421 yr It looks like the bit torrent network as we all know it is gone. Not only has some of the great sites we normally visist have gone down, the uber great Suprnova.org has officially gone down for good due to the pressure put on it. While not totally surprised that Bit Torrent has finally gone down because of the centralized servers it used, what is shocking though is the speed that all of this has come about.
