BitTorrent's Death Knell?

The measures taken this week, however, were not directed at individuals who download movies. Instead, the targets were people who act as conduits between downloaders and three specific "peer-to-peer" file-sharing technologies: BitTorrent, eDonkey, and DirectConnect.

It's sounds like the MPAA isn't gonna bend over and take it anymore. It sounds like lawsuits will be next.

LimeWire lives....mwahahahaha

Can't really say it's suprising, it'll be interesting to see what happens though.

I can't help but think 5 years from now I'll look back on BT the way I look back on 1999 and Napster now. Get your movies while they last (not that I would ever condone such illegal behavior ^_^ )

Exactly...

We thought it was over after Napster...

I went and got Audiogalaxy....Kazaa...and now I'm on Limewire

If I lose BitTorrent, I lose my life.

that was obvious from the beginning.

as soon as they get rid of one, another good one's gonna pop up, can't they realize that they're just not gonna win.

How successful will they really be? The RIAA still hasn't successfully sued anybody.

How many movies have some of you downloaded on to your HD?

Since I can't afford DVDs for most TV shows, it's time to move up my DVD writer purchase.

I don't generally download movies. I have no time to watch them and if I do want to watch a movie I can just rent it real quick.

Music and PC Games here.

Wow, never heard of Bit or Lime. I guess now would be the wrong time to jump onto that train. No biggie, my buddy uses Netflix much like most people use those sites. You should see the size of his DVD collection!!!

I use Usenet archives. All sorts of crap there and with the right provider, no way of tracking what you downloaded.

Bit Torrent may be going down.

My favorite torrent sitem Phoenix Torrents, is gone now.

I wonder how long Suprnova will last...

Suprnova is not hosted in America and it's not a "tracker" so I don't think it will be going down.

Edit: Nevermind looks like non-American sites are being targeted as well. Still if all the trackers are dead, it won't matter if Suprnova is up or not.

It looks like the bit torrent network as we all know it is gone. Not only has some of the great sites we normally visist have gone down, the uber great Suprnova.org has officially gone down for good due to the pressure put on it. While not totally surprised that Bit Torrent has finally gone down because of the centralized servers it used, what is shocking though is the speed that all of this has come about.

Not looking for proof, Suprnova does seem dead, I just wnat to read it.

There are still plenty of sites around.
