*Official* Clement to Boston

Featured Replies

I just want to see the White Sox sign a good pitcher. Signing either Clement or Perez into this team would be good. If I had to decide which of the two I’d get, I would have to say Perez for the reason that he’s younger, his lifetime ERA is lower, and he’s a left-hander.

It's 4:10...

The problem is, if Gammons says something its still useless cause its Gammons, lol.

Are you f***ing kidding me, Steven A. Smith????

I know!

I don't know how many times I've told people win/loss records mean nothing when compared to REAL stats, like whip and ERA, not wins or losses.

For the fools who won't stop judging pitchers on wins/losses, this is for you:

I recall a upcoming "superstud" named Danny Wright (yes, the same Danny Wright the White Sox released for sucking), compiling a 14-12 record in 2002 with a 5.18ERA.  By the rational that wins/losses mean something, that makes Dan Wright our new #3 starter AND better than Matt Clement, yet we released him.  Now PLEASE, shut up about wins/losses, it makes you sound foolish.

I witnessed Clement lose at LEAST two games last season 1-0.

The only issue with Clement is, and if the Sox sign him be ready for this, he takes a REALLY long time to pitch.

I also saw ELo lose 2 1-0 games in 2003. I'm sure glad the Sox didn't sign him to a $27 million extension after that season. Danny Wright also was injured so that is an unfair comparison. Clement had an era over 5.00 the last 2 months of last season, hardly worthy of the contract he will get.

So, no update?

So, no update?

Screamin A is still talking about Vince Carter.

Looking at it realistically, he was the #4 SP for the cubs.

Yea in 2003, in 2004 he started out as their #3 and after Wood went down he was their #2. By the end of season he was a physical and emotional wreck.

Will they just skip Gammons and go the next thing on the HotList then?

Gammons will be on after the break.

You ever get the feeling that Steven A. Smith is yelling at you? Man, that guy is irritating. :bang

Do we need a Vince Carter thread?

Peter Gammons says you can't over pay guys like Derek Jeter.

Is he done?

What the f***? Didn't say a single f***ing thing about Clement. :headshake

It's over?

:headbang

Dude you rock, SAY NO TO CLEMENT

:bang

I smell bulls*** on the rumor.

Welcome to Boston/Anaheim Mr. Clement. I think you can afford a new house now with the bags of money we gave you. Here is an extra million to keep your wifey happy.

This has been an uneventful day. :sleep

All they are f***ing talking about is Vince Carter and the Randy Johnson deal.

Who gives a flying f***?

Quit teasing stuff that you aren't even going to mention.

Dammit. I can't take the suspense.

Remember the last time we said that? We ended up with Pods like 45 minutes later.

Don't get me wrong, I hope we sign him. But if this thread has to keep up for a couple more days, everyone will hate Clement, just because they'll be tired of hearing about him. :banghead

I already do. Same with johnson.

Matt Clement should be the White Sox number one priority. It would stengthen our starting rotation drastically, the White Sox haven't had a solid 1-5 rotation in a LONG time.

Not only is Clement a great pitcher, he actually wants to stay in Chicago!! It doesn't get much easier, SIGN HIM KENNY!
