for 900K i dont see why we couldnt have gotten him, i would have given him even more... shrug... if we get the japan dude ill be happy, cora... ehhh... only if he comes really cheap and helps light a fire under harris's ass.

It's not a hole, it might be the biggest weakness we have on the team right now but it's definitely not a hole.

yeah i wouldnt consider willie harris a hole...he has tremondous upside and he really wasnt that bad last year just people are haters

Wasn't Cairo the principle 2b for the Yankees last year? I know he's not an all star but I'm surprised by rotoworld's lack of respect for him.

...I don't think anyone is confusing Cairo with Bonds....

All I was saying is that in my opinion, Cairo was the best option of the remaining available 2Bs because he has played 3B in the majors before, and would provide a viable option when Crede needs a day off. Right now I'm not sure who would spell Crede - Uribe? WHo plays short then? Dransfeldt? Not excited about that. Burke? Maybe if no one else wants him and he is in Spring Training.

sometimes its not a matter of the sox just going out and getting someone. maybe cairo just wanted to stay in New York. Who knows, but it is a nice price, for a guy who will no doubt come off the bench for the mets.

On Cora, it makes sense his situation won't be settled until Beltran, Lowe, Millwood, etc. get done. Boras has his pecking order and he's very hands on.

 

Miguel Cairo is a good player but there are others out there, something will happen. This team has been in worse shape in January before ... we are angsting over a middle infielder ... much better than a #4 and #5 starter.

 

BTW, not a big deal, but Wilson Valdez is doing pretty lousy in winter ball, hitting wise. Doesn't mean anything, just saying.

The only true "upgrade" at 2B on the market is now gone, and at that price KW should be ashamed of himself for letting him go. Hell swoop in and offer him a cool million.

All I know is that if we do sign Willie Harris of the future (A.K.A. Alex Cora) he better come no more expensive then 700,000. Otherwise KW better tell him to take a hike.

no, harris isnt a hole in gerneral... however there is a huge hole in his bat when it comes to hitting against LHP... the guy hit something like .118 agasint them... thats borchard like and i would have rather had a platoon guy like cariro who hit over .300 carrer against LHP...

just an odservation, i support whilie but his growth process cant stifle this teams sucess... and there is a SMALL chance of that... which is why i say sign a SMALL contract with someone who hits LHP well and can play 2B.
