January 12, 200521 yr apparently we're still in it for Vazquez but... i dunno what do you guys think? Im kinda sick of this rumor but i'd be happy as hell if we got him... unless its for PK, Marte and Garland... Javier Vazquez's representatives are traveling to Arizona to discuss the team's plans for the pitcher. The Marlins, Phillies and Orioles are among the teams looking to bring Vazquez back to the East Coast, which is where he wants to be. The White Sox are also an option if the Diamondbacks decide to move the right-hander. Jan. 11 - 1:31 pm et
January 12, 200521 yr It's gotten to the point where I've heard so much about Vazquez that I don't even want him anymore. Not to mention I'd rather not have my rotation be 60% ex-Yankees.
January 12, 200521 yr QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) I highly, highly doubt KW f***s with the rotation we have right now, not to mention the make-up of this team is SOOO different from last year, I can't see Garland being shipped off. Just to many fan favorties gone to make the casual fan happy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, Garland's our 5th starter now and he's a damn good 5th starter too.
January 12, 200521 yr If Garland gets that 5th spot in the rotation, he's better then almost any other 5th starter and I still say that he can get 12+ wins out of that spot. If our #5 wins 12, and our #4 (Contrearas) wins 12-13, and our #3 wins about 13, that leaves Mark and Freddy in the 16+ category, that's a SOLID year... especially with the bullpen arms. This is a winnable division... and I'll tell you, Cleveland is more worrisome then Minnesota now, IMO. Let's see if I'm right about that one. Edited January 12, 200521 yr by kapkomet
January 12, 200521 yr not gonna happen.... our rotation is 80x better then last year.....we shouldnt even discuss this...
January 12, 200521 yr It won't happen. Just another rumor that won't go till Spring Training. Kenny might just be lookin at some proposals, or still might deal for him by the trading deadline if he's having a good year, but as of right now.. no.
January 12, 200521 yr IMO this would be the worst thing KW could do. Vazquez could get lit up in the cell! Not only that we'd be giving up way to much value for a maybe. The only way this deal should even be considered is if it's for Contreas (I'm too lazy to look up proper spelling) straight up.
January 12, 200521 yr He wants to play on the E coast for a NL team. I don't know if OAK or the CWS are listening but he says he doesn't want to play for you. I'm penciling him in as a Marlin come ST.
January 12, 200521 yr QUOTE(Reddy @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) apparently we're still in it for Vazquez but... i dunno what do you guys think? January 12, 200521 yr I want no part of a Vasquez trade. I'm quite content with the rotation the way it is. With my boy Jonny G at the #5 slot, I see a nice, VERY solid rotation as long as El Duque can stay semi-healthy this year. We have the arms in the Pen also, I like our pitching staff more right now than I have in quite some time!!
January 12, 200521 yr I have a feeling Vazquez will get traded. To the Orioles, Tigers or some other pitching starved team. I agree, I am sick of this rumor. Too much money involved as well.
January 12, 200521 yr Unless the price for Vazquez has plunged, I have no interest in him anymore. The team we have is solid, and we don't need another questionable high priced long term deal on this team.
January 12, 200521 yr I agree. You know the price will be high and I'm not that sure that Vazquez will be worth that high price.
January 12, 200521 yr I agree too, I want no part in Vazquez because we will have to give up a ton for him. Just out of curiosity, how much money did the Yankees give the D-backs for Vazquez? Our pitching staff is good as it is now, its a very talented group....PLEASE STAY HEALTHY!! Bill
January 12, 200521 yr QUOTE(diehard chisox 1427 @ Jan 12, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) Just out of curiosity, how much money did the Yankees give the D-backs for Vazquez? $9 Million
