Opening Day Lineup

Featured Replies

Mark Buehrle will get the nod on Opening Day over Freddy Garcia, manager Ozzie Guillen said yesterday.

The Indians have plenty of time to plan for what they'll be facing on April 4. Guillen also indicated he'd use a lineup of: LF Scott Podsednik, SS Juan Uribe, RF Jermaine Dye, 1B Paul Konerko, DH Carl Everett, CF Aaron Rowand, 3B Joe Crede and 2B Willie Harris. If Frank Thomas is healthy, he'd likely bat third and Dye would be dropped to the fifth spot. Jan. 16 - 2:26 pm et

The report neglects where AJ will be batting. Dye isn't the best choice for #3, but not a bad one either I suppose.

There's the 2005 Chciago White Sox Opening Day Roster barring an Iguchi signing. If,Igushi is signed, then + Iguchi and subtract a reliever or Willie.

haha, cool....That's the exact lineup I'd go with. And no, AJ wil not bat 6th(they fixed it). And Dye's a perfect choice while Frank's gone. Him or Rowand. :nono

no everyone knew the staff and buehrle would start

Perhaps, Willie and a prospect/PTBNL for Graff could happen soon??? Then, Iguchi is signed and Wilson sent back to AAA.

I'm kind of getting excited about our team.

I wish we'd get rid of Carl, though.

I don't like that guy as a player.

Do you all think he's good or not?

I say trade Carl now for a bad second baseman.

Trade carl now for a bad second baseman? Thats a stupid idea. I think he will hit .270. He is a pretty good replacement for Frank. Between him in gload that will be a solid #5 spot in the order while frank is out.

Some kid asked ozzie that today in one of the seminars and he said whoever isn't swinging the bat well is going to be sitting next to him and kenny said it's called depth. It's definitely going to be interesting to see how carl gets incorporated in lineup once frank is fully healed.

I'd say Carl will spot start in RF and get a day or two per week at DH once Frank returns.

Carl is gonna be a valuable guy for the Sox this year.

Reports are that he was motivated by embarrassment at how he played last year, and that he's in great shape this year. If his weight is down and his knees are sound, he has pretty good speed for an old guy. He can fill in at 3 spots ( CF, RF and DH ) and I'm sure he can play left if they need him to.

Good power and contrary to his Boston experience, a good teammate.

Plus he's crazy, and that's a good fit on an Ozzie team.... :D

Carl looked good at Soxfest. I also never realized how funny of a guy he is. Everett made sure to say something to every single person he signed for, and talked to everyone he could in the bar also. He is a really personalbe guy, and it is 100% obvious that all of that stuff that happened in Boston was complete Media/Red Sox character assassination. Carl is one cool dude.
