I can't translate this right now because for some stinking reason by school blocked Google Translate.

Someone else can do it.

Go down to Translate a web page and select Japanese to English BETA. Then copy the url ( http://www.daily.co.jp/baseball/2005/01/21/158567.shtml ) into the box. Then translate. Copy/Paste what you get here.

Here's a link to the translated webpage...

As for opening both 2000000 dollars or more. Trend is observed whether the negotiation oven it stops.

It actually says that the White Sox first offer was a 2-year, $4 million contract with a $3 million option for a 3rd year in 2007.

This moth man needs to conform to our views, so we can get the benevolence infielder (30).

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I love that. Instead of Richard Moss, it translates to Richard Moth and the "Moth man". :lolhitting

That translator is politically incorrect. It keeps calling the other Sox the "Lead" Socks.

As slow as they were the Lead Socks might not be that bad of a discription... :bang

The Lead Sox aren't interested in Iguchi. They just re-signed Mark Bellhorn to start at 2B and traded for Ramon Vazquez to be their backup 2B and SS. Iguchi doesn't really have any other options but us if he wants playing time.

I think I may start using that translator for fun in my spare time. :bang :lolhitting

This sounds positive... I hope this happens soon because the Sox need to add something in the IF

Considering the value of honour in the Far East, coupled with Bellhorn being handed the 1st string job , I would think the Red Sox are out of the running with the 'screw mosquito' comment.

What was the "screw mosquito" comment?

Weird. I wish someone here was fluent in Japanese so they could translate the article correctly into English for us. Where's Shingo or Timo when ya need em? :P

That is a GREAT deal...take the risk Kenny...this is one you probably won't want to get away very quickly...

No kidding. Given the number of current members, you'd think we would have an in house translator.

Right on Ross!

In fact, IIRC, if Iguchi signs to these terms, he'll be making less than he would have in Japan to come and play in the States. Well, Kenny, nows the time.

s*** or get off the pot.

Actually, no. Iguchi made 240,000,000 Japanese Yen last season which is equal to around $2.3 million U.S. Dollars. The article says that Iguchi's agent is asking for a 2-year, $6 million contract to come to the White Sox. That would be an increase in what he made last season unless of course some Japanese team offered him more money.

It doesn't matter. He's Iguchi. He's good, he's going to make an impact with our ball club.

Plus it makes Harris more expendable and forces him to compete at second base...should put a fire cracker up his ass to get going...and think of the versatility off the bench with Willie as a pinch runner.

Ian's right tho, right on bud..

I think he'll be a whitesox by Sunday or Monday.

Ok, makes sense. I heard a $4M figure somewhere; I was under the impression that was what he was going to make in 2005.

Regardless, pull the trigger. Low-risk, High reward. I say low-risk, because although you aren't paying him tradtional "Sox low-risk" money, you have to consider Wilson Freaking Valdez is the utlity MI. Although he hasn't seen one pitch in the MLB, I have to think he's more major leagure ready than Valdez.

Game three, Harris goes down with a torn ACL, Valdez gets the start. Ouch.

Do it. Do it Kenny. Do it.

Thanks....its nice to find somewhere to talk Sox and forget another chicago team even exists.

I am so excited for this year...the possible addition of Iguchi would be a great way to cap this off-season. :headbang

welcome to sox talk :snr :headbang
