January 29, 200521 yr Just one example of why sometimes it's not good to give someone a minor league invite (some of you were saying Koch.) The player might actually pitch well and make the team.
January 29, 200521 yr I was at a game when a line-drive hit him in the leg and he had to leave the game. Naturally, the half-price night/upper deck drunks wildly cheered as he writhed in pain. Not the finest moment for Chicagoans. Overall, he had a nice career.
January 29, 200521 yr i was at the game when he gave up one of the grand slams, i think i remember calling it too....i was so pissed
January 29, 200521 yr QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 29, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) I thought he retired while the season was still going on? You could say that...
January 29, 200521 yr QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 29, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) he was released once he reached his goal. The goal of tieing the Grand Slam mark? I'm sure you meant 1,000 games. I'm not saying he was as good as the other guys on this list, but it put him in pretty good company. Its like the adage about starters, you have to be a pretty good pitcher to lose 20 games. January 29, 200521 yr QUOTE(ihatethecubs @ Jan 29, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) i was at the game when he gave up one of the grand slams, i think i remember calling it too....i was so pissed I was at and did the same during a game against Cleveland on 06/23/04. Broussard murdered that meatball.
January 29, 200521 yr Jackson was a decent pitcher in his day. Unfortunately, that day came and went before 2004.
January 30, 200521 yr well if i remember right, didnt Mike Jackson start off pretty well? Idonno best of luck to him
January 30, 200521 yr QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 29, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) well if i remember right, didnt Mike Jackson start off pretty well? Idonno best of luck to him I thought so too. I remember actually wanting him to close at one point early last season.

February 3, 200521 yr all that matters is he doing what right for him, best of luck to him and his family.
February 3, 200521 yr f*** him! He's already rich.....coulda retired a few years back. Seriously though, I wish him well.
February 3, 200521 yr Mike jackson was good awhile back. He even posted a sub 2 ERA a few times. I was at USCF and witnessed his 1000th career relief appearance. What a thrill it was.
February 3, 200521 yr Not surprised to hear he's retired. How could he even think about playing baseball with his high profile court case coming up?
February 3, 200521 yr QUOTE(TheDybber @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) Hey John franco, it's your turn!!! My name is John Franco.
