Next Years Starting Rotation:

1.Buehrle

2.Garcia

3.Contrerras

4.Garland

5.Diaz

Write it down boys thats it. They won't be picking up anyone. With a rotation like that I can see another second place finish in the books for next year if they're lucky.

72 wins

Look for the Sox to try and trade for some power when this slap and tickle s*** turns out to be a bust.

Yeah, because using power has gotten us so far the last 4 years .

An injury to one of the starting pitchers, the closer role will switch back and forth between two or three closers, and a lower all-around team batting average and we will be fading from the 3-team race in mid September.

Drinking the Koolaid. AJ, Arow, Kong, and Iguchi hit .300, Frank hits 40 HR and 120 RBI. We steal bases left and right. 4 starters win 15+ games. Division champs.

I can see both. I think the Central is a 3.5 team race. I think Detroit is only a threat if everything goes right for them. They kneed to have a 2003 Royal start and some help. Cleveland is for real, bring Nuke's screen name back into vogue. We are lacking in current star power and that will keep experts off the bandwagon.

Either way this clubhouse explodes at some point in the season. Too many new faces, too many guys in critical stages of their careers. Too many different languages causing some players to feel isolated. Expect at least one major soap opera.

God bless ye merry gentleman. :gosox3:

How can you say Cleveland is for real?

Their bullpen is sub par and their rotation is average.

But they have a nice offense. Basically the same mix we've been using to finish ahead of them for the past four seasons.

I really think Cleveland is a house of cards. I think now that the spot light has started to find them, they will be the Royals of 2004-a big flop. The entire back of their pen is injury prone guys who had a couple of good months. Their two top pitchers had horrible second halves, and their offense faded at the end of the year. Their top FA signing was horrible in the NL and now moving into the AL.

Sabathia, Millwood, Lee, and Westbrook are a much better rotation than the crap KC trotted out to the mound last year, and their offense is light years ahead of what KC had last year.

Their bullpen is certainly below par, but they're still good enough to finish 3rd.

Lee the guy that competely blew for the entire 2nd half and posted an ERA over 5.4?

Millwood the guy that posted a ERA over 4.8 in the NL that will now be pitching in the AL?

Sabathia is a stud, I'll give you that.

Westbrook is an interesting guy. Last year was his first real good year, so we'll se if he was a fluke or not.

Now, now, now. Lee's second half ERA was 7.91, and the so called "ace" Sabathia had an second half ERA of 5.14.

Well, our rotation put up a 5+ ERA last year. So I guess we suck too.

Lee has a great arm, he's just young. Sabathia is an ace. Quoting stats from a half season doesn't change that.

Ask any GM in the league who they'd rather have, Brian Anderson, Darrell May, and Jose Lima OR Sabathia, Millwood, and Lee.

I'll wait...

Ozzie Ball proves to dissapoint because the talent isnt good enough.

Podsenick hits an abysmal .250 but still manages to steal 40-50 SB's

Iguchi starts off slow, really slow. But then in 2nd half finally figures out MLB pitching and rises his avg. to .270 after hitting .330 after the break

Dye proves to be a bright spot hitting .290 with 30 HR's

Konerko falls back to his 2003 year but still has power and hits .260 with 30 HR's

Rowand another bright spot hits .285 with 25HR's and 25 SB

Pieryznski hits .289 but hits into more double plays than Konerko

Crede struggles again but improves upon last year with a .250 avg and 22 dingers

Uribe falls back to normal and hits .270ish with 15-20 HR's

Frank Thomas struggles but towards the end figures things out

Starting Rotation:

Buehrle another 16-18 wins and solid year

Freddy Garcia 14-15 wins

El Duque only pitches 100 innings b4 getting hurt looks to be RP next year

Contreras starts off strong with 6 straight wins but than really loses it after a couple tough losses and ends up with 11 wins

Garland finally shows himself for the pitcher we all think he is and gets 15 wins

Bullpen:

Shingo era in mid 3's and another solid job closing

Hermason makes us think that Koch never left

Vizcaino ends up era 3.98 but gets rocked against the all important twins

Marte returns to normal and era in the 2's

Pollite era in mid to high 4's

Cotts era in the low 4's praises the sox for getting rid of mike jackson

overall record 75-79 wins and next year we have Josh Fields, Brian Anderson, and B-Mac to look forward too. Also dont resign Konerko and trade Contreras paying the amount of money yanks are paying us to the team he is traded too and we make a run at Ben Sheets.

Cleveland's bullpen is a lot better than most of you would make it seem.

And the 8th and 9th inning guys both haven't had an injury free year for years for either one of them.

Sabathia might be an ace, but he would be our #3, and you should know better that the Sox team ERA was inflated due to USCF, and a crappy fifth starter. :nono

My one and only 2005 Sox prediction:

Joe Crede will make Josh Fields trade bait.

My one and only 2005 Sox prediction:

Joe Crede will make Josh Fields trade bait.

I really doubt it. Keep in the back of your mind that Joe is a Borass client. His days on the southside are numbered.

my prediction: 56 stolen bases posednik 3 stolen bases konerko

95-67

1st AL Central

MB = 20 game winner

Kong with another 40 HR season ( it is a contract year for him ya know )

Garcia = 18 game winner

Pods steals another 70

I can't remember having more questions about a Sox team before the season started. I want to follow them real close in spring training before I make a prediction about the regular season.
