There are a lot of members who have joined who were trolls or banned etc., so they'll still be in that members numbers, but we have 2000 real members of the site, if there's such a thing.

IN addition to that, there was a glitch in signing up for a while, where you couldn't tell you were registered, and some people registered 10 or more times. Most of those names got erased, and are not included in the 2000 registered members, but did use up member numbers.

Now that that is off of my chest CONGRATS TO SOXTALK!!!!

The growth here has been incredible. It never ceases to amaze me that there are more incredible and knowledgeble Sox fans out there who are still signing up. Everytime I start to believe they are all already here, someone else pops up. In a stretch of about 2 1/2 years this site has grown from the original 128 members, to 2000 members and 600,000 posts by just word of mouth. We don't advertise, we don't spam, we just pass on the site to our friends and other interested people. That alone has self-perpetuated into what you see before you today.

And just to prove how much we get from those 2000 members these are post totals that have been put up by posters here.

10k posts = 8 people

7k =16

5k =26

2k =87

1k =134

500=176

100=315

at least one post has been made by 1041 people.

Even if you average the people who have never posted, each member of Soxtalk has an average of 300 posts to their name. If you leave out the never-posters that goes to about 600 posts.. If that doesn't tell you how much some people have put into this site, I don't know what does. It takes a lot of time to put that much into a site. Granted a few of us skew those numbers upward, but you get the idea. ;)

The really amazing thing to me is how well rounded the site is. There are tons of different opinions, view points, and reasons for being here. What truely shocks me is how much nonbaseball talk that people have chosen to bring here. With the diverse interests this has really become a White Sox fans community, instead of a just another Sox message board. And even with this, the knowledge that has been brought here of the Sox is second to none. The people on this board know everything about this team starting from the day kids have been drafted, all of the way up to the office of the chairman, and beyond.

In short, you guys are the greatest.

As Soxtalk celebrates 2000 members and 600,000 posts, all of us celebrate the premier spot for White Sox fans of all sexes, ages, backrounds, knowledge levels, passion levels, and anything else on God's earth you can imagine. Pat yourselves on the back for this one guys. You make this place. Every single one of you.

:cheers

Awwww. I'm getting all choked up here. :crying

Seriously, I know I've enjoyed my 2+ years here at Soxtalk and plan to continue to do so. I have to say that I am personally impressed by the intelligence level of the membership here, regardless of whether it's baseball knowledge or the general topics discussed in SL&P. Great community of Sox fans.

Might as well add something too;

It's been absolutely a pleasure posting here for over a year and a half, and getting to know each and everyone of you as best I can, and to this day I'm still impressed with the discussions and knowledge almost anyone has on any single topic baseball or non - baseball. Hopefully in the future I'll actually be able to meet some of you one day if that's all possible, but in the meantime, let's hope the site continues to grow, as it should, and continues to make this the best message board on the internet, anywhere. :cheers :notworthy

I just think it's so cool that a simple message board where Sox fans can get together to talk about anything and everything has grown so much. 600,000+ posts and 2,000 members are definitely some big numbers, and to think this place will continue to grow is awesome. SoxTalk! :cheers

If you take away SpamSider2k5's posts, the average poster has 8 posts! :P

Yeah yeah, I know, blah blah blah "coffee table licker" SUTW.

Soxtalk also surpassed 600,000 posts the other day too.

The thing i find most satisfying about soxtalk is the fact that i know maybe 10-15 people that post here personally, and i would consider them more than just "internet people" at this point. And i didn't know any of these people before coming to the board. I think that's a strange thing to think about how that's happened, but i'm sure i'm not the only one. Pretty cool when you think about it.

This place is like incredible. I don't get around the internet as much as some do, but this place just seems like a great overall internet community. However, when only half of your posts are in the forum this message board was basically designed around(the other half made by SS2k :D ), that tells you a lot about how much actual discussion of everything else other then White Sox goes on here.

This place has really evolved from a message board into an online community...and I am quite proud to be apart of it. This seems like that little diner on the corner where you talk about anything and everything...except that is holds around 1500 people :)

You're right. We need a bouncer. How the hell did some of you get thru the door anyways? :D :P

The site is just awesome it far surpassed my expectations. i thought there would be a lot of B.S. on these boards when I first registered, but the poster on this board are outstanding and great people. Lets keep it growing. Congrats to Sox Talk and here is to getting another 2000 members in the future :cheers
