And this is a "down year" for the Big Ten. I can't imagine what we would be doing if this was a good year.

Three teams from one conference. Pretty good. That's almost as impressive as having two teams from the same state make it. Just saying.

I know this is what it had been labeled as by the media, and I agreed for much of the year. Then I realized that last year was the down year and this year has been a recovery year. A lot of the teams in the conference had to have players step up after losing talent (Iowa-Pierce, Wisky-Harris) or were young teams that lost little talent last year (Illinois, Michigan d'oh). Next year should be even better.

These guys as ESPN piss me off. They at first say the Big Ten is terrible, now they're saying they're great. Just admit they're playing better than you expected. They're playing better than I expected.

North Carolina vs. Illinois

Wake Forest vs. Michigan St.

Duke vs. Wisconsin

 

 

its pretty clear the ACC has the advantage regardless of the fact that the Big Ten has 3 teams in the elite 8. Although being an Illini fan and hearing all this bs about only reason we were doing so good is because the Big Ten is down, will it feels good right now.

I have a new concept that may help the ACC, they call it defense here in the Big 10.

Id venture to say that of the top 3 ACC/ Big 10, they all would have a chance to win on their home floor.

 

I am glad Wisconsin gets a shot at UNC, eventhough I think Villanova would of been a much easier game. If Williams thought Nova ran a slow offense, just wait until he faces the Badgers who are even slower and more methodical. Also there is no love for Williams who took a shot at MSU and Wisconsin after the final 4 game, in which he said that people like high scoring games more than defensive contests.

 

NC did not look unbeatable last night, and if Wisconsin can frustrate them, there is a chance that they can upset them.

Just because a team may not be as talented, or have a higher seed does not always mean that they will not be a tougher match up. Wisconsin has certain weaknesses that make some teams very hard for them to beat, even if they have more talent.

 

UNC plays the type of game that the Wisconsin program is trained to beat. UNC is a fast pace, transition offense. Wisconsin is a half court team. UNC will try and get Wisconsin to play transition, Wisconsin will try and make UNC play half court. If Wisconsin can get UNC into half court, I think UNC will have trouble.

 

Nova, Wisconsin would have just had to outplay, against UNC Wisconsin can try and get UNC to beat themselves.
