"YUH-OH!": DJ's HR Call.....

Featured Replies

i'll start by saying i'm not a DJ hater... while it's true he is not that proficient of an announcer..... i actually have to say i like that.

for that reason, he's more likely to actually say what he's thinking.... a truly honest announcer is a rare thing. especially on the North Side, now that Stone is gone. and i like Hawk, but he's King of Homers.

so anyway i like DJ, in general.

That said, WOW does he need a new home run call.

every time we homer, and DJ is doing playbyplay.... i actually find myself cringing, hoping he doesnt say "YUH-OH!!!!! BYE-BYE!!!!" But he always does.

i really like Sox HRs, so please please we need DJ off the play-by-play. i dont know if Hawk is starting to scale back his work or what.....

i very much doubt this was actually preplanned HR call.... i seriously think it's just what runs thru his mind every time a HR happens.

If anybody can find a wav file of it, I'd be quite appreciative.

If you can find a highlights clip of it on MLB.com I'll do it.

Video clip of Timo's 2 run HR is on whitesox.com IIRC, the call should be there. Thanks for the assist.

Now if he went "Yuh-Oh, Spaghetti O's", then we'd have something truly to complain about.

Let's turn this into a "What would your home run call sound like?" thread.

As would I, as I have stated numerous times. I've grown to love that home run call. I think the first time it was just what was running through his mind, but now I think he's adopted it as his home run call.

"Uh oh, uh oh, way back, he looks up, bye bye!"

Classic

You'd have to announce for the Pirates or something. That would get old so fast.

I can't get it to open, and it might be the Tigers' announcers because the highlights they were using on ESPN were from Fox Sports net.

Of course it would have to be for the huge shots, I'll come up with some more Aussie slang ones later.

Reminded me of the family guy episode where Peter keeps soiling himself at the most inopertune times, "uhhhh ohhh"

*jumping up and down hysterically*

"ITS OUTTA HERE!!!!!! EAT s*** MOTHERf***ERS!!!!!!!!!HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA"

Or something like that. After I stop yelling you'll hear glasses clinking as me and the color guy toast some JD shots.

If Steve Stone is willing to take a job on the south side...I want him. Best color man in baseball.
