Performance enhancing....contact lenses

"Performance-enhancing contact lenses?"

These contact lenses make reds stand out more so players can pick up the seams of a baseball. Joe Mauer is also wearing them -- big surprise! :rolly These things will probably be banned by the MLB soon.

Maybe Crede is wearing them?

Nike makes contact lenses???

thats the freakin gayest thing I have ever heard.

Griffey is supposedly wearing them too, so don't take to much stock into this.

Get Jermaine Dye to wear them, quick!!!

Thats so cool if it actually works

how could baseball ban this? if its just lenses, then it wud be a must-need for a baseball players life? like glasses?

They would ban those particular kind of contacts. I doubt that NIKE is selling prescription contact lenses.

Yeah, really. That's really, really cool. Maybe I should grab a pair for basketball... :D

I read this story a couple days ago. Supposedly the ones players are using right now are only good for day games. These things are the blue blockers of contact lenses.

Just like Sammy only used his special bats in BP. :) :headshake

Not sure if this has been posted or not, no wonder Brian Roberts is off to such a hot start. Just kidding, I think these are great and hope to see more players wearing them. Also, I think we need to get Jermaine Dye fitted for some ASAP.

Holy crap that picture is scary.

I remember after Glaus had laser-eye surgey two off-seasons ago, he started tearing the cover off the ball as well.

Pretty darn interesting.

im not sure what i think about this... how is this different from steroids?

EDIT: or frank using aluminum bats in BP???

It's a tough line to draw because you could argue that it's not much different from one player using pure, natural, God-given vision and one wearing contacts. The contacts are enhancing the performance of the player with worse vision.
