May 3, 200520 yr taguchi=great pickup and terrific player, theres nothing else to say but i hope he finally hits a homerun
May 4, 200520 yr I said it before... Iguchi is f***in' badass... Drafted him 14th round in a 16-league team and 16th round in a 12-teamer
May 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 3, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) Imagine once Gooch goes threw the league again. He is still seeing these pitchers for the first time. I love Iggy. works both ways though.....
May 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 3, 2005 -> 09:34 PM) works both ways though..... I'd say the pitchers have a definitive advantage when it's a first time matchup.
May 4, 200520 yr I would really say the exact opposite but it's hard to say because there are plenty of cases of it happening both ways
May 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 3, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) Iguchi has been great.........AR got money now plays like he did whole career are you f***en serious? rowand will be fine its been 1 f***en month!

May 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(rangercal @ May 3, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) are you f***en serious? rowand will be fine its been 1 f***en month! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not to mention he's always been a slow starter. Ohh yeah and that career .270 plus average BEFORE last season ever happened really proves how crappy AROW was before.... :headshake
May 4, 200520 yr As for Iguchi I think he's a great fit for us and i'm glad to have him on this team. I do think his speed will come around though. At least he's not Konerko slow...
May 4, 200520 yr Gotta say.....I called the gooch HR tonight at the game.....so glad to be there for his first MLB HOMERUN
May 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(DABearSoX @ May 4, 2005 -> 05:06 AM) Gotta say.....I called the gooch HR tonight at the game.....so glad to be there for his first MLB HOMERUN You probably call a Gooch homer every time he steps up to the plate. Am I right?
May 4, 200520 yr Some believe pitchers will figure him out the 2nd time around and others think he will be even better the 2nd time around. Way i look at it, When it comes to pitchers they ususally look worse the 2nd time around, but Hideki Matsui and Ichiro both looked better as the season progresses and they saw the pitchers more. Even Kaz Matsui has looked better this year.
May 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 4, 2005 -> 05:09 AM) You probably call a Gooch homer every time he steps up to the plate. Am I right? HAHAHAHAH no, I only call a Paulie homer ever time he steps up, probably why he is in a slump right now
May 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(DABearSoX @ May 3, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) HAHAHAHAH no, I only call a Paulie homer ever time he steps up, probably why he is in a slump right now Start calling double plays even if no one is on base
May 4, 200520 yr never thought that Gooch would be this good already. i am very impressed by his play. His D is solid too
May 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ May 3, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) We as Sox fans can take pride in Iguchi. Several people outside of our Pale Hose Nation thought we were kool-aid drinkers about the way we talked about Iguchi in the off-season. Who's drinking the kool-aid now? We knew he could hit 290-290. We are pleasantly surprised that he's hitting .333. Everett & Pods deserve some credit as well providing him protection so that he's sure to see good pitches across the plate. Don't worry about the HR's. They will come. Just wait until the warm weather arrives. Now if only Dye could start approaching his career avg we might run away from the rest. We may have been Kool-Aid drinkers, but we knew what type of player this team needed and based upon what we were hearing about Iguchi as opposed to what other players were deemed to be available, Iguchi was the best option out there. Maybe arguments could be made for Polonco, but as Sox fans, we were happy to get a guy that filled our needs. Edited May 4, 200520 yr by YASNY
May 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(YASNY @ May 3, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) Iguchi's doing the job as a number two hitter. He'll pick his spots and put a few in the bleachers. Welcome to Soxtalk. He picked a good spot, tonight!
