LOPEZ!!!

RBI SINGLE

5-0 SOX

Vote For Pedro

5-0

Pedro with a ribbie!

Lovin' it.

5-0 Good guys.

Pedro Lopez with a 2 out RBI single. 5-0.

Lopez with an RBI single. I'm beginning to feel like a Twins' fan. We can just call up some random minor leaguer, and he'll contribute to the franchise.

damn scotty... you're doing almost awesome...

For the most part, I agree with him.

There is some certain talent down there.  What do you think Jim, from what you've seen in person, which of the Sox big-name minor leaguers will contribute consistantly to a big-league club?

From the looks of it, McCarthy, Anderson, Fields, and Sweeny (to a lesser degree) really seem primed for ML careers.

I know you didn't ask me, but two guys to keep your eye on -- Josh Fields the 2nd, and Jeff Baj. I'd say they rank one and two as far as our relief core down there.

That's 73 pitches for Chacin through 4 innings.

Everyone on this team is producing.

Gotta love it, this is special.

Like just about everyone else I was very impressed with McCarthy in person. He looks like the real deal, I was most impressed with his mound composure.

And actually I like Sweeney better than Brian A. and even Fields. Sweeney needs to fill out a bit and get some experience but I'm convinced he is also the real deal.

Josh Fields ... he has talent and he is better at 3B than I thought. He clearly needs more experience but I think he has a very good chance to be a long term above average major league 3B.

Brian Anderson ... he is hitting well at AAA, great sign. He can run and he's solid defensively. The one thing that concerns me is his pitch selection, he can be worked over by a decent pitcher. He is striking out too much right now and I'm hoping he comes on even stronger in the 2nd half. If they need an OF though, Brian will likely be the guy they call up.

I believe all 4 will play in the majors, and stick around for a while. I also like Paulino Reynoso, I saw why they put him on the 40 man.

Willie Harris on the Aflac question.

I believe Miguel Olivo did it, too.

Didn't another Sox guy do it, too?

EDIT: And, by do it, I mean hit a homer in your first major league AB.

I'm not high on Baj at all. I know the folks around here love him, but I don't think he has the stuff for a long stay in the ML. In all honesty, I wouldn't mind trading him for something of value while some teams may be scrambling around for pen help.

As for Fields, he looked awfully filthy during the brief appearences I've seen, might be something there.

Paulino... thats hilarious

Miguel Olivo and Carlos Lee

MO was in Yankee Stadium off of Pettite :)

I think the game where Olivo hit that homer got rained out before it could reach 5 innings, so it didn't count or something.

I forgot about Reynoso and Jenks -- those two are doing some good things at Birmingham, by the looks of it.

We're actually pretty decent if a one or two of our relievers go down. Diaz, Baj, Fields, Munoz, Reynoso, Jenks -- I know the latter two are still a year away, but we're leaps and bounds ahead of where the system was a year or two ago.

:cheers Thanks a ton, sorry for the slight hi-jacking.

I really like to see what you had to say about Sweeny. He has a BEAUTIFUL swing, but hearing that you are convinced he is big-league material is really something to be excited about. That's what I was looking for, thanks again.

Good memory, it was raining and I think the game got called early but the game was official.

Two little bloop singles by Koskie and Hillenbrand.

If Jenks can get his act together, and by act, I mean personal life, he could be a dazzler in the bigs. I LOVE his stuff. Actually, he's my favorite minor leaguer.

I do remember that it was an opposite field shot, too.

Buehrle in some trouble here.
