May 21, 200520 yr didnt kill us, but did help out with a big 2RBI double in the 8th a Dye platoon when Frank returns? Yes.
May 21, 200520 yr Id think Frank would be the main DH, and than we would have a rotation OF.... Dye needs a break Everett plays RF, Pods needs a break Everett LF... Rowand needs a break Pods CF and Everett LF.
May 21, 200520 yr QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 21, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) Id think Frank would be the main DH, and than we would have a rotation OF.... Dye needs a break Everett plays RF, Pods needs a break Everett LF... Rowand needs a break Pods CF and Everett LF. Nice to have all these options.
May 21, 200520 yr QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 21, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) Nice to have all these options. Nuke, I believe you're due a shot of Jack.
May 21, 200520 yr I know it was only one game, but I told you guys that Everett would not kill us in the field. And, c'mon how about that double into the gap? He won't do anything spectacular, but if it's routine, he'll be fine.

May 21, 200520 yr Does anyone else think that Carl has looked much better from the right side of the plate this year? It seems like when he is hitting lefty he is trying to jack one every pitch, and when he is hitting righty he just tries to take what the pitcher gives him.
May 21, 200520 yr There was a fly ball down into the right field corner today with a runner on first. Everett got over to the wall and made the catch. He then proceeded to throw a missle at the second basebag, holding the runner on first. I had no idea Everett had that kind of arm strength left. It was gorgeous
May 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(Finkelstein @ May 21, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) Does anyone else think that Carl has looked much better from the right side of the plate this year? It seems like when he is hitting lefty he is trying to jack one every pitch, and when he is hitting righty he just tries to take what the pitcher gives him. He sucks, I'm convinced. Let him ride the bench for all I care.
May 22, 200520 yr He sucks, I'm convinced. Let him ride the bench for all I care. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Someone must not have watched today's game and missed Everett's 2-RBI double. Edited May 22, 200520 yr by Jabroni
May 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) Someone must not have watched today's game and missed Everett's 2-RBI double. A little occasional luck won't swade my opinion.
May 22, 200520 yr A little occasional luck won't swade my opinion. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ummm, did you see the hit? That double damn sure wasn't luck. Everett lined the ball into the gap intentionally. Edited May 22, 200520 yr by Jabroni

I'm just not high on Everett. Did you see him go down without a breath with runners on 1st and 2nd two outs? He does a lot more of that these days.

May 22, 200520 yr I was impressed with Everett's throw to 2nd. He kept a long single from becoming a double.
May 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 21, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) I don't see how you can bash Everett. His AVG is still higher than Paulie and Dye. Don't tell me what you hit, tell me when you hit it. Props to Everett for coming through in the clutch today...though he had a chance to do it earlier.

May 22, 200520 yr And it's not like he's batting .350. .250 isn't impressive by any means. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And 29 RBI's.
May 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 21, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) And 29 RBI's. This is true, but it seems that more and more he's becoming an easier out. At least for Kong and Dye you can't say the same about them when they are going at their regular pace. Let us not forget that he's also only scored 14 runs, compared to Dye's 16 and Konerko's 23. Everett's been in a funk lately, that's for sure. His lack of runs scored is directly a result of Dye and PK's early season struggles as Everett was hitting in from of them most of the season.
May 22, 200520 yr chisox.com article. Carl saying all the right things for an elder statesman to say Everyone has a role and Carl is playing his, on and off the field, as well as can be expected. Perfect fit in this machine.
May 22, 200520 yr The less I have to see Carl in the OF = the better off I'll feel about our chances to win. I'm sorry, but I dont want to see Everett anywhere in the field unless he HAS to be there, and only then if he is actually hitting well again.
