Predict When the Sox clinch

Featured Replies

I'm going to make my guess, barring a rain out that day of course, Sept. 6 against the Royals. If anyone gets it right, you will win my undying respect.

Hello, Fate? This is Temptation.

This thread has "jinx" written all over it.

I'm pretty confident we'll win the division. But, if we somehow blow this and don't make it to the playoffs (which isn't, you know, completely out of the realm of possibility), do you really want to be known as the guy who jinxed the 2005 White Sox?

Do you really want to be the next Steve Bartman?

:)

if i had the power to jinx things, do you really think the yankees would have won all those world series?

and steve bartman actually reached out and disrupted play. the only way i can get blamed is if timo perez takes my post, prints it out, and hangs it in the clubhouse.

i'd actually like to be known as the next Seal if you don't mind :pray

I dont believe in jinxes but this is really not something to be talking about before the AS break. Revive this thread in September or something.

jinx

n.

1. A person or thing that is believed to bring bad luck.

2. This thread

Sorry Be Good if you're out there, we all forgive you (I hope).

you guys make me sick when you think that just mentioning the playoff is a jinx..

If the team is great which they are they will make the playoffs has nothing to do with any jinx..

you sound alot like cubs fans with the dam curse..

No, talking about the playoffs is not a jinx. To the contrary, predicting when they will clinch IS a jinx. :headshake

sorry everyone. i guess when we talk about having guys rested for the postseason and the like, that's not a jinx. grow up. we have no control over the outcome of the season, although i think some people on here think they do.

like i said, if i had the power to jinx things, i'd be a very rich man.

Jinx. No jinx. Whatever. This thread is WAY too premature.

This thread needs to be destroyed.

I will leave this board for good if this ever gets dug up in september (for the wrong reasons)

how bout we wait till the magic number is below 20? :chair

I'm willing to predict that Opening Day 2006 will be sometime in April of 2006. I don't wanna jinx that though.

Here's a guess: We are going to clintch when the magic numebr is 0. Maybe it will be the last sunday in October.

Touch 'em all

According to Elias Sports Bureau, all 26 major league teams since 1900 that have had leads of 10 games or more at any point in June have gone on to finish in first place. The Sox have had a lead of 10½ games over Minnesota twice this month.

The stupidist thing about this post is the fact that to clinch on Sept. 6, would the Sox need to have about a 20+ game lead, would they not?
