GAME THREAD 7-3-2005 SOX vs A's

Lately, almost every game in which we've played a lefty, he has been on the bench.

Lately we've also been trying to get Everett more playing time, given that Thomas is back.

Your leadoff guy should be close to your team lead in plate appearances, because the 1st guy should come up the most.

Pods leading the team in AB's could be a function of him not walking as much also.

And don't forget that pods sat out a week or so earlier in the year with a tweaked hamstring.

What is interesting is that he is hitting lefties at a .315 clip.

-Pods didn't look particularly good at the plate last night.

-It's a night game followed by a day game.

-It's against one of the best lefties in the AL.

-Everett needs time, too, he's been pretty good at the plate when he's been in.

There's plenty of good reasons why Pods is on the bench today.

Guys Scott isnt a platoon player. We have 4 really good outfielders and Scott has sat out the least out of all of them since we've had this good problem.

Anyways, wow to Frank, that was nuts.

2nd deck shot by the Hurt...enjoy that one Frank.

HOLY s*** THAT WAS A BOMB

Hey all. Chat room is up and running. Stop in and say hey.

The Oakland announcers are looking at the White Sox Media Guide...there's a good 16 pages in there on the big hurt, including every single one of his home runs.

He hit #75 and #300 in this ballpark. He's hit a total of 16 here...that's the most of any ballpark in the AL other than the Cell for Frank. At least 1 guy must like it here.

Gonna need a big inning from Buehrle. I'm not so sure we'll be scoring much more off of Zito and a scoreless inning would be huge.

That bomb by Frank was enormous, and it wrapped around the pole nicely.

I think Dye could've ran a little harder for that ball. I swear he was jogging.

Mark lets a couple guys get on, goes full on Swisher, gets him to swing at ball 4 and then fly out to Everett.

Good work Mark, keep these guys silent.

He gets out of the inning, but he's still throwing too many balls. That level of comfort that you usually have during a Buehrle start just isn't there today. Hopefully that inning will get him into a groove.

Let's score some more runs, just in case.

Just logged on Soxtalk groupies. I see the Big Hurt put a hurt into one of Zito's pitches and that Buerhle is doing his thing.

Great, great AB by Dye and he kills one to left center.

Dye makes Zito work with 10 or 11 pitches and then homers. Not that's a hitter!!

DYE parks a solo shot. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

2-0 NOW.

What a great at bat by Jermaine. I had a feeling he was going to take him deep, and he did.

Great job JD.

There you go Mark, 2 runs now shut 'em down :D

Jesus Christ, Buehrle is throwing nothing but balls on the first pitch.

EDIT: Nice DP by Iguchi.

Edited by Milkman delivers

1st and 3rd 2 outs. Big out here, cmon Mark.

HE GAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Man that was a beautiful hook to Crosby, Buehrle just aced him. Completely out in front of the pitch, not even close.

Pablo gets picked off, no he doesn't, STOLEN BASE!!!!
