How'd you find this place?

Just curious.

I remember looking for a sox fan site w/ articles/commentary, etc and finding soxnet on google.

The rest is timewasting history.

Someone, and I thought it was Southsider, but he denies it, (I don't blame him) sent me the link over at ESPN. He thought I actually knew something about baseball and would add to the conversation. Silly fool.

Clicked a link for soxnet.net on blackhawk zone way back when.

It was mentioned on WSI and the "official" board and I surfed over for a peak. Never went back to the official site after that.

WSI. I'm a member over there too but so far people here seem a little more laid back. I like that! :D

Someone posted a link over at the ESPN board. Thats how I got here.

Soxnet. I used to frequent that a lot. I found the boards, and I lurked for a decent amount of time before I ever posted.

I clicked an ad on Yahoo...

All I have to say is BLAME MARIO!!! :)

My "real-life" buddy Mike ( Maury, RedPinStripes, Mike South, CredeFan....am I missing any nyms??? ) steered me here.

Steered me to WSI, too, and I like posting there as well. A different "feel" to the boards at each site, and I like the difference between the two.

The sad thing is that you wouldn't be the most embarassing person to post here because of me :bang

RPS steered me here as well after I got suspended from WSI a few times.

Similar thing for me. But it was, I am pretty sure the name I will get correct, NorthsideSoxFan or something close. I am not so sure he posts too much here now. I was on the MLB board though, and I made a complaint, or he did and I commented on how I would like to see a more "mature" board. Thought I had found it. silly me. I also have never been back to the offical one, except to watch the implosion of Ncor. Anybody ever hear from him again?

I remember reading some article on espn.com or some sports site and it mentioned soxnet or soxtalk. I clicked the link, lurked for a few months and then joined and started posting away. Seems so long ago now haha.

He got you too huh? :D

So, NOBODY else got here by accident trying to log on to SEXTalk.com?? :P

Well one day the name Soxtalk.com sounded like a good idea...the rest is history and I've been kicking myself in the ass ever since.

I try blowing up the server thinking you all would get the hint, but no, instead more people just show up

Just wait, one day you'll see a banner with a bunch of ivy in it ;)

In all serious, I'll throw a little history in here. I was visiting WSI one day and saw a post by this weird guy named RIO (from the ESPN boards as well) and it said he was starting a website.

I almost never went on the internet back than but found it interesting and shot him an email. Ended up starting SoxNet.net and I helped him out with it. We had a message board there but eventually came up with the idea of starting a seperate board and came up with the name Soxtalk.com

We'd kind of split market them, posting articles here and on SoxNet and than eventually getting FutureSox.com involved. SoxNet closed a little more than 2 years ago but Soxtalk has continued to grow and grow and the site never ceases to amaze me (and thats a good thing...most of the time).

Its been a cool ride and it takes up way too much of not only my time, but everyone's time. We could of cured some major disease with all the time everyone here has put into Soxtalk.

BrideportHeather, who i knew from Blackhawkzone.com, IMed me one day and told me i should check out this white sox message board. So i clicked away, started posting thereafter, and then it was love at first sight between soxnbears and myself.

You are welcome

BTW, your avatar comes close to violating our "our moms may log in here and we don't want to be embarassed " policy.

I googled white sox wallpapers and found a thread with a wallpaper in it i used it looked around the site joined and have been posting ever since.

soxfan101 led me here

A link in a thread on ESPN's White Sox board by a member got me here.

Same here an ESPN reference

Searched around for a Sox message board. Googled "White Sox Message Board.", found Soxnet.net, registered for the forums, and the rest is history. Damn, I've been here for a long time...
