I disagree. Garcia battled his ass off to get thru 5 innings. It was obvious he had nothing, yet Ozzie put him back in the game. At some point, a manager has to put personal friendship and stats aside, and do the right thing for the team.

I would take Carlos Lee over Podsednik on defense.  I never thought I would say such a thing.

The White Sox actually considered putting Pods in CF and moving Rowand to LF when they made the trade. Rowand really has picked it up defensively the last couple of months, his throwing is still erratic, but even when he wasn't at his best earlier in the season, he is so much better of a fielder than Pods, it makes me wonder about White Sox scouting.

We don't have the margin in this game anymore to mess around. As it stand now, we'll probably end this inning up by two. As bad as the Royals are, I don't want a tie game in the late innings with their hard-throwing relievers coming in. Their bullpen is pretty decent.
