September 30, 200520 yr Now that we can sit back and relax for 4 days, why not discuss what the favorite plays of the regular season were so far for each of us? Here's mine: 5) Rowand's 3 run homer against Hoffman in San Diego 4) PK's 2 run single against the Cubs at Wrigley in the 8th (thanks Patterson) 3) Not a play, but the 4 homers against RJ in the same inning 2) AJP's walk-off homer against the Dodgers 1) The Rally Crede beats the Indians
September 30, 200520 yr It's not so much one play, but the limited time when we had Frank when he showed us that he could still drive it.
September 30, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) It's not so much one play, but the limited time when we had Frank when he showed us that he could still drive it. I was just going to edit my post to change number 3 to Frank's huge 3 run blast in the 8th inning against Tampa on July 5th, I believe.
September 30, 200520 yr Can't order them but... Uribe's defensive play against Detroit; Frank homer in extras AJ walk-off vs. LA PK hit against the Cubs, Patterson mishap ARow homer off Hoffman Garland strikeout vs. Tejada Edited September 30, 200520 yr by WHarris1
September 30, 200520 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) 1) The Rally Crede beats the Indians Definately the Rally Crede!
September 30, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) Garland strikeout vs. Tejada Definitely the best pitch of the season I saw. I've heard great things about Jenks vs Vlad, but I never saw it. Contreras vs J. Jones in the 9th last Friday was pretty special also.
September 30, 200520 yr Opening Day -- Peralta boots one. Frank's first game back -- Timo comes through in the 9th. (this was the Jeff Brantley game too) Uribe's gun vs. Polanco in the 9th to save the game -- Thomas' HR in the 13th to put the Sox up New York, New York -- The Aaron Rowand show, the idiot fan jumping from the UD, Uribe's triple and the play at the plate. Rally Crede
September 30, 200520 yr JD and PK going back to back in the first game of the year. The 10 run outburst against the Dodgers i believe Ozuna to his right on a diving backhand a few weeks ago.
September 30, 200520 yr No particular order here... --Frank's time w/ the Sox in '05 --The 4-3 walk-off comeback against Wickman on day 2. --The sideburned, bare-handed Crede HR to take the lead back against Detroit --The Rally Crede walkoff --AJP's walkoff against LA --Garland's first sign of breaking through at Oakland; Widge hit a bomb that game too --and TODAY!
September 30, 200520 yr AJ's game winning HR vs. The Dodgers. That's the play that made us all believe!! AJ's walkoff homer!!
September 30, 200520 yr QUOTE(Nokona @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) JD and PK going back to back in the first game of the year. The 10 run outburst against the Dodgers i believe JD and PK was the second game 10 runs were against Arizona
September 30, 200520 yr i think there are really just two plays that define our season, the rest just blend into greatness(if its before august) -AJ. walkoff vs dodgers-among the greatest games I've ever attended Rally Crede vs Indians-Greatest Game I've ever watched
September 30, 200520 yr Hard to beat the AJ homer against LA. Something about those '59 jerseys made it that much better. It was an amazing win. I also thought the makeup game against Boston was a memorable win. Probably has something to do with my massive hatred of Curt Schilling.
September 30, 200520 yr This is also a forgotten game that I thought set the pace for the rest of the season: April 6, 2005 - Sox stun Tribe with four in ninth
September 30, 200520 yr 5. Rowand robbing Jeter in NY 4. Freddy's 1 hit loss 3. AJ's game winning bomb vs. Dodgers 2. Pauly's series winning homer in Game 4 of the ALDS 1. Jenk's fist pump after strikeout of Edmonds in Game 5 of the World Series
September 30, 200520 yr My favorite two were the Uribe play against Cleveland, and the Rowand play on August 7th, where he robbed Sexson of a multibase hit in the 8th inning, saving Garland (who left runners on) the game, and Politte (who was pitching) from a blown save. Why this one? Because I was there (8 rows up from the dugout, amazing seats), and I almost dropped my nachos when I saw it happen. I (and everyone around me) went f***ing crazy

Why this one? Because I was there (8 rows up from the dugout, amazing seats), and I almost dropped my nachos when I saw it happen. I (and everyone around me) went f***ing crazy That was a great catch by Rowand. The funny thing is that the catch was much more difficult and meaningful than any of his catches in New York the next week, yet he received all the praise for the NY catches.
September 30, 200520 yr yea, I noticed that too. That catch made my year :/ Edited September 30, 200520 yr by Felix
September 30, 200520 yr Top 2: AJ hitting the walkoff against the Dodgers. Remember guys, we were down 3-1 in the 9th. This game made every Sox fan believe. Hell, I have a small clip of it still on my computer and I make sure I watch it once a week. Rally Crede's walkoff against Indians.
September 30, 200520 yr 5. Opening day, just awesome to be at the first opening day in ages at home, 1-0 win felt so awesome after last years opening day debacle. 4. Game 2, Pauly and Jermaine homer for a 4 run 9th and win. 3. Aj's walkoff against the dodgers, aaron tied it with a single up the middle in the 9th and then BOOM aj goes oppo to win it. 2. Rally Crede last Tuesday, we needed that win big time and we got it. 1. Today, 'nuff said.
September 30, 200520 yr 5. Opening Day win 4. Bobby Jenk's fastball 3. Rowand's game-ending catch at Comerica (early August??) 2. AJ's walkoff vs. Dodgers 1. Rally Crede HR
September 30, 200520 yr I think one of my top plays was in Minny when Jenks threw three straight hooks for strikes to Lew Ford to K him looking to end the game. Phenomenal.
