Do the Sox play the 4th or the 5th

Featured Replies

mlb.com has pages that say both

this is actually some what important to me because if it's on the fourth I won't have to miss any school and if it is the fifth I can't go until game two on the sixth, and that would cost me an extra 25 dollars(because I would have to pay to miss a drum lesson)

kind of confusing I know :bang :bang

either way help is appreciated :D

Tuesday.

Do we already know? I assume we don't find that out until we know who the matchup is. I just hope the Sox don't play on Wednesday or Thursday during the afternoon (got 2 big ass tests on Thursday and Wednesday I'd like to study for them).

On a sidenote, I'm assuming its 2 at home, 2 on the road and then the final at home in the best of 5?

I play the drums too, good stuff :)

Cool. I guess I'll just have ot study extra early or something.

So if they play Anaheim the weekend games will be in Anaheim (the Friday and Saturday ones). Than they travel back to Chicago for a game on Monday (or so I'd guess).

I'd be definately down for a Friday and Saturday Sox games in Anaheim. That would be most perfect.

we do play on Wednesday. I got the tickets today in the mail. Boy do they look beautiful. :crying :crying

Final home game would be Sunday. Play 5/6 days, only offday is Thu.

I haven't even seen my tickets yet as they're sitting back home all by themselves. :(

Cool, thanks Brian

So the schedule is (no times are known yet)

Tuesday @ Chicago

Wednesday @ Chicago

Friday on the road

Saturday on the road

Sunday @ Chicago

I guess they've yet to clinch home field in the first round just yet.

They've clinched homefield in the first round just not throughout yet.

Do we hold the tiebreaker over them?? Cause we split head to head.

Yeah, I was wondering what the tiebreaker is.... Run differential maybe? Common opponents? Coin Flip? -- We won a coin flip, I know.

Earlier ESPN was saying...

1 win

OR

a Red Sox AND a Yankees loss sealed homefield throughout

Ok, so that means we do hold the tie breaker over the yankees. Thanks for the info greasy.

This would indicate that we hold the tiebreaker over the Yankees(3-3 Head-toHead), but not the RedSox(3-4 Head-to-Head).

1 win, and the RedSox couldn't catch us if they win out, but with one win, the Yankees could tie us if they swept.

I just hope the Sox don't get screwed like last time they were in the playoffs by having 11am start time during the week. That sucked last time. We have the best record in the AL, we should get the choic game times. f*** the Yank-mes or those OTHER sox.

We'll get the 1 central or primetime start.

EDIT: Actually I was basing that 1 central start on the fact that we played a west coast team but yeah same thing in 2000 so nevermind.

Found the NY tiebreaker...

the White Sox would gain home field based on a better winning percentage against rivals in its own division: a 49-22 mark for the White Sox vs. 40-31 for the Yankees.
