October 18, 200520 yr Hawk's been offered to go in the radio booth w/ Rooney and Farmer, but he's going sit back relax, and strap it down and watch the games on TV.
October 18, 200520 yr QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) Hawk is staying in Florida for the series... I really wish he was going to be around. It just doesnt seem right for him to be in Florida while this is going on. He travelled with the team all season and should be with the team.
October 18, 200520 yr Haha Hawk gets to take a stab at Mariotti at the end of the interview when they ask him if it's true that he's throwing the first pitch out at the WS.
October 18, 200520 yr "Go have a glass of Merlot and celebrate your power round." -"I'm having one right now" Farmer called Hawk to offer him some time on the radio, Hawk turned it down because he didn't want to upstage the radio guys.
October 18, 200520 yr QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) Hmm.. strange. Must dig for real reason he's not coming... I agree... There seems to be more to this... It was nice for Farmer to offer him to come up to do some radio, but it seems odd we won't be in attendence for at least Game One. Start digging
October 18, 200520 yr QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) Hmm.. strange. Must dig for real reason he's not coming... Wonder if he is pissed about Rooney leaving situation?
October 18, 200520 yr I guess this is why I hate politics and all that, lol. I heard and posted that, and I thought absolutely nothing of it.
October 18, 200520 yr Maybe Hawk is superstitious enough to think that if he doesnt watch the game in Florida, the Sox might lose. i know I get all kinds of crazy non-realistic superstitions stuck in my head in the playoffs
October 19, 200520 yr This whole first pitch thing is getting spun around. The guys on ESPN were joking w/ Hawk that they heard Mariotti was throwing out the first pitch. They just wanted to hear Hawk lay in to Mariotti and call him a Heiny bird a couple times.
October 19, 200520 yr My sense is that Hawk throws out the ball at one of these games. The WHite Sox have to do this. Daley should get one. So should MJ. Nobody else besides Frank over Hawk. IF they don't do this, it will be very sox-like of them to blow this opportunity. THe crowd will go nuts if he is there.

THe crowd will go nuts if he is there. 2 games, 3 different guys throwing first pitches. As you can see, not enough games to throw first pitches. And this ain't coming back after the first 2 games.
October 19, 200520 yr QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) I'd love to see MJ! I'd rather have someone associated with the team in some way not just another bandwagoner even if it is Mike. JMO.
October 19, 200520 yr I agree, no Mike. And personally I don't care if Hawk is there or not. He was invited, he declined. His loss.
