Yeah, but that's why Pettitte is so good.  He cuts his fastball just enough to make it very hard to keep the ball fair.

 

I realize that's the reason. I was just stating I'd be happy if, in the future, those balls find the pole.

Credit to Pettitte for having like 5 full counts tonight, and making the Sox put the ball in play.

I decided that I need to walk away from this game, they are swinging at so much s***. Hopfully I wake up pleasantly surprised. If not, 1-1 going into Houston is not so bad. I certainly didn't expect a sweep. Oswald is a junkballer, though, and we're going to have trouble against him.

 

I still am confident that they'll pull this out, but it certainly is not going to be easy.

By far, Pettitte has out pitched Buerhrle in that and many other regards.

1-1 going into Houston isn't so good when you have to face Oswalt in Game 3.

 

But if we don't get Clemens in Game 5, I still like our chances if we lose tonight.

This is beginning to aggrivate me. f***ing hit the ball hard and have nothing to show for it. Great, now it's beginning to rain. This was probably going to be his last inning anyways.

Something that I don't understand was Buehrle decided to go to the slidestep in that Berkman AB with Taveras on 1b. In that situation, you're better off just concentrating on the batter.

Speed has had a huge impact on this game. Some poor base running by the Sox, and the Astros have two extra runs due to speed. Did anyone else think Crede could have had a double on his flare to RF?

Oswalt is beatable. The question is what type of pitching performance will we counter with. If we get a start like Buehrle's tonight, we are in BIG trouble.
