Yessir, I plan to see it after I go see the play at my high school.

It looks amazing.

Everything I've heard says that it is very disappointing.

I have a man-crush on Jake Gyllenhaal.

Where have you heard this 'everything' from?

I might go see it tonight, kinda wondering if its worth my time...

LA Times, CNN, couple of other places.

I want to see it.

Is there a book that it's based on at all? I read Black Hawk Down about a year before it came out. Do yourself a favor and read the book.

Looks REALLY dull.

I'll pass.

Well... actual people that have seen it like it. Critics are not people.

"Mr. Swofford's book has earned a place alongside the classics of military literature, but Mr. Mendes's film is more like a footnote - a minor movie about a minor war, and a film that feels, at the moment, remarkably irrelevant."

On the other hand, Roger Ebert rated it highly.

I'm still gonna go see it, I feel like I have to get to movie eventually since I haven't gone in a LONGGGGGGGG time.

Remember that episode of Seinfield where George and Jerry attempt to sell NBC their pilot for a show about nothing? Well, this movie follows a similar route. More than a film which showcases battle scenes, Jarhead highlights the anticipation of Marines awaiting war. If you're intending to view this movie with Full Metal Jacket, or even Three Kings in mind, you'll be sorely dissapointed.

I have no way of knowing what to expect. I've only seen that 10 second preview.

Looks alot like "Three Kings" to me.

I liked Three Kings, so it could be good.

One of the more underappreciated movies out there, imo.

I don't have a man-crush on the guy but he will always be "Bubble-boy" to me!!!!!!!

yes and i read it. It is a great book and it really takes you into the shoes of a guy in the army. Not only does it talk about the fighting but it focuses on what they did when they were just hanging out. Some of that stuff is funny as hell. I also read Black Hawk Down but after I saw the movie. That might be one of the most gruesome movies i have ever seen. Great movie though.

I was a big fan of Three Kings too.

my favorite movie of all time. They were supposed to re-release it 2 years ago but they decided not to because of the war. It was supposed to have 2 extra scenes added. Ice Cube is an underrated actor.

Awesome. It was just great.

I am going to see it tonight. How much of it is a comedy and does it stay true to the book?

Fun "Black Hawk Down" aside. One of the soldiers that was actually involved is actually in military jail for being a child molester. When they made the movie, they changed the name of the soldier so as to not acknowledge this little black eye.

The previews didn't interest me at all.

I do remember Three Kings though...it was on TNT once kinda late...right before Enemy at the Gates (another real good movie).

Ya, Enemy at the Gates is another good flick.
