hope everyone has a good black friday.... while out in dubuque for the holiday I stopped into Target and was in and out in 2 minutes

I didn't go because I work a half day today... but even if I didn't there isn't a chance that I would have been anywhere near a mall today.

I went to Target and Macy's this morning...managed to get roughly 1/2 of my shopping done, also picked up a printer and a Simpsons DVD for myself. Wasn't that bad here...although I didn't head to the Best Buy across town, which I believe is where the real hell erupts.

i slept till 11.

I went up to the ranch to fetch a 24' ladder to put up lights. That is as close to "out" as I want to get.

I did, but I didn't start until about 9--late enough for the crazies to be gone, but early enough to avoid the hugest crowds.

 

All of my Christmas shopping save for my best friend is done. And I think we're just getting each other a spa day, so that's kinda done.

 

Black Friday is the closest I get to the thrill of the hunt. I love it and wouldn't miss it for the world. Plus, I got some *awesome* deals.

I slept till 10:30, it was great.

I have the #$%#$^ flu... so I've been pretty much doing nothing but sleeping. This sucks.

I've only tried shopping after Thanksgiving once to get it out of my system and I vowed to never do it again. The sales aren't that fantastic to make me wait in line that long with that many people.

It's the day retailers get into the black for the year. Many retail stores are losing money YTD, and need a busy Christmas season to turn a profit for the year.

I had to go to work today. Personally, I would have liked to go to Best Buy and start my Christmas shopping. Oh well. I’m pretty sure there will be more specials in no time. That’s how it always is. Once everyone is out of money, prices go down.

i had to work at 6 am at sears. People were lined up since 5:30 outside because we had ten dollar gift cards for the first hundred customers. It was crazy

Yeah, it's a yearly tradition for me and a couple of friends from high school. Oh well, I never liked that place anyway for trying to make me serve other peoples' drinks and not get paid for it. Then again, it would be the ideal place for me to work at. I could be mean to people and have them do my job and get paid for it.

Even if I wasn't fighting the tail end of the flu, no way I would be in those crowds. I am not looking forward to Christmas shopping this year in the least. I am, however, already baking and trying a few recipes for the Christmas Eve meal I will be making as well as getting the decorating in gear.

 

Oh joy, just found out Brain does have to work tonight (11PM start).

The not turning a profit the rest of the year doesn't apply.

Went up to Lombard at about noon, raided the half price sale at Aeropostale, bought a cd at Sam Goody, and got the hell out.

It's crazy. I had intended to go out on that day. But my Mom came into town, and I decided to stay in and do family stuff. I had all intention of doing a ton of shopping this weekend. Now here I am on Sunday afternoon, and I haven't set foot outside of my house since Wednesday evening!!!

 

In other words, I have had a PERFECT 4 days break from work.
