Not really. THis is what happens when you play your kids so much in ST. Especially at the end of games.

I don't mind it. See what they have. But you gotta expect losses.

True, but it would also be nice to see these young guys get other young guys out.

Sure it would. But I'm not worried about it when it doesn't.

Spring Training or not, losses against Oakland usually follow a similar plot. We'll be behind, go ahead, then lose late. I've just come to expect it.

Another stellar bed wetting by our pitching prospects, ST invitees.

Also, by the sounds of it, Liotta's best pitch is his curve - which can't be helped by Phoenix atmosphere.

According to the box score, Heath Phillips took the loss.

Even better, if true - I think Liotta has a greater upside. The Oakland announcers made no mention of Phillips.

Liotta gives up a lead-off double in the bottom of the 8th - then issued a full count ball to the next hitter - 1st and 2nd - nobody out.  Keith Ginter up.

raising that trade value Borch.

It wouldn't surprise me. Oakland's announcer was awful. He didn't know what the hell was going on.

Box also shows Boone Logan went 2 IP giving up only a hit and a walk. We need to give him some more innings.

This guy has got to be opening some eyes - what pitches does he feature? If Hermy can't help, the door has to be open for the improbable - a young unknown stepping up.

Yes....but, a little too young.

Hats off to the kid for putting together an eye-opening spring. I don't know if this kid projected to be anything before this spring, but, I promise you he'll be a guy they'll start tracking a little more closely.

you know me way too well. i hate prospects.

What's frightening is, I think it is already rubbing off on me at such a young age.

A prospect-cynic this early in the game? I have to be ahead of the curve.

He hasnt pitched above A ball. I dont think his time is here quite yet.

I think he was drafted in the 20th round the same year Brandon was drafted in the 17th. He was listed as 180 lbs. on draft day - now he is listed as 200 lbs. - maybe his filling out has coincided with an increase in velocity. I'm just thinking off the top of my head here. I have no idea what he is throwing. But he is getting people out somehow. What a great story it would be if he was able to make a contribution to the team before the year is out. Of course a better scenario would be that we have no need for him this year.

If Boone Logan throws 40 innings for the Sox this year, were f***ed.

O.K. Mr. Expert.

Probably - but it makes me remember the year we showcased Terry Forster and Goose Gossage. They were both as young as hell and they frightened all comers with their stuff. I'm not saying this is a similar situation here. Again, I've got no idea how he is getting people out. Forster and Gossage were around 20 and 21 when they hit the show, if my failing memory serves me well.
