Things to do in Utah

Featured Replies

About a year back, I started a thread asking about things to do in Phoenix. Well it's that time again. :D

The folks are off to Utah on business for a few months, staying in a place called Sandy, which I think is south - east off Salt Lake City. Now I've warned them about not being converted to mormonism (or whatever it's called), but does anyone have any tips on anything to do up there (last year's advice was real handy)? Thanks in advance. :)

They're scraping the bottom of the barrel. :P

No that'd be Iowa. Riots and Cyclones aren't really their "thing". :P

OMG, it is an outdoor lovers dream

Moab area has Canyonlands National Park, Rafting down the Colorado River, Arches National Park, the Salt Lake Tabernacle should be reopening soon. Utah is an awesome state for outdoor stuff.

The Karl Malone statue is a must. :D

If you can take them trying to 'save' you, seeing the choir on the Mormon campus in Salt Lake City is quite a site.

You can get married! And married again! And again if you want to!

People flock to thing that because it's the closest they'll ever come to seeing a black man in Utah. :P

JimH is probably the best person to ask about different cities.

I don't think even Jim can help with Utah

DBAH0, can't you go to a state with stuff to do in it? :)

I'm telling you people, if you love nature, there isn't a better state anywhere.

Zion and Bryce Canyon national park offer some spectacular rock formations. There is a lot of excellent camping and hiking up in the mountains.

"Utah, but I'm taller"

couldn't resist.

Hence why I ain't goin, and I'm "casually" suggesting to my Dad to find some work somewhere a little more entertaining when I get my 3 weeks off in June / July.

Talking to them before however, they said there's still snow on the mountains, so skiing's a definite option.

Things to do in Utah...besides Mormon tipping...I'd say...leave.
