On another note, am I the only one pulling for him to win the National League Cy Young, and happy he's off to three great starts? Maddux will always be a Brave to me. But, more importantly, he'll always be a damned good pitcher.

LOL, by the end of the year his era will be over 4, he's not getting anywhere near the cy young.

He looked real sharp against the Giants.... his stuff had good movement to it and add that into the extra half a plate he gets by the umps.... just maybe

I’m giving credit to where credit is due and Maddux deserves just that. He’s looked very good so far and as of now he is definitely in line for another 15+ win season, which is something he didn’t accomplish last season.

 

I’ve never had a problem with Greg. I enjoyed watching him pitch for the Braves in the 90’s and seeing the highlights of last night's ballgame thrills me. Only 86 pitches thrown in 8 innings.

By late June the engine will be getting very tired!

Well he shut down an already mediocre lineup without it's best hitter last night in a pitchers park, he beat St. Louis and their swiss cheese lineup with the wind howling in. His other start I give him a lot of credit for, 6 innings of 1 run ball against the Reds is solid, but I'm not exactly sure Maddux is all of a sudden back to 1996 form yet. Still one of the all time greats though.

after watching two of his first three starts i think it is abundantly clear that greg maddux is on the juice.

I'm not all that impressed. I think he has been aided by pitching on cold days with the wind blwoing in and he dominated in a pitcher's park in LA. I think his overlal numbers will resemble last year's in the end

i highly dislike him. Remember what he said about Buehrle?

Maddux has said he wants to pitch a couple more years. My bet is he goes to the Brewers to team up w/ his brother

Maddux is off to a nice start, he hasnt had the strongest schedule to start but nevertheless impressive debut for him, Ill ride him on fantasy until he struggles.

He's doing good, but he's not in his prime anymore so I don't expect him to have a cy like season. He's old and he's on the flubs team. He might get a good 3.5 ERA, but the season just started.

He's apparently added a "screwball" to the arsenal this season. Whatever the hell that means.

Maddux is pitching wayyyy over his head right now. This is not 1995. Sure, he's been great so far. But it's not gonna last. He'll have an era around 4.50.
