April 29, 200619 yr SI has photo gallery of more memorable home runs in MLB Pods listed no Paulie Slam, although I thought that was more memorable link
April 29, 200619 yr I think Pods is remembered better because no one would have said. "Watch Pods is going to homer." I and I'm sure hundreds others said, "I'll bet you Konerko grandslams right here."

April 29, 200619 yr Baseball Digest had a similiar article for last month's issue. They picked the 3 or 4 best home-runs ever in the history of each franchises. Pod's was on the cover.

I and I'm sure hundreds others said, "I'll bet you Konerko grandslams right here." I feel like there were lots of people at the park that said "it would be great if paulie hit one right here" you had that feeling it could happen. Although I distinctly remember screaming "single! single! just a single"
April 30, 200619 yr My most memorable HR (games I was at) had to be Joe Crede's Walk-Off against Cleveland last September.
April 30, 200619 yr I don't care what anybody says. As far as World Series homeruns go, Joe Carters' homer to me, was the greatest homerun in a World Series ever. To hit one in a game 7, in the bottom of the 9th, to win a World Series is every kids dream and the perfect timing. As far as the Whitesox homerun, I would consider Blums to be huge. The guy barely gets an at-bat for about 3 weeks and to hit one in your ONLY AB in the playoffs (yet alone the W.S.) in the longest W.S game in history was simply amazing.
April 30, 200619 yr I loved Blum's. I love Geoff Blum, actually. He was my favorite bench player last year for purely sentimental reasons, and his homerun couldn't have happened to a nicer, more decent guy, IMO.

April 30, 200619 yr QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) It was game 6. Which means it was NO kid's dream, cuz no kid would dream of a Game 6-winning HR. So Carter's HR is useless.

As already stated, it was Game 6, and Mazeroski hit one in Game 7 in his home park. I'd imagine just about every field would be full of fans if that happened.
April 30, 200619 yr QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) SI has photo gallery of more memorable home runs in MLB Pods listed no Paulie Slam, although I thought that was more memorable link What made that memorable for me is the announcers saying that Lidge had just gotten the taste of Pujols out of his mouth ( from that moonshot that pujols hit off him that still hasnt landed ) an instant before Pods launched his shot. That was a great moment in Sox history for me.
April 30, 200619 yr I was at a bar the night Pauly hit the slam and the place was up for grabs. It wasn't until months later that I heard Farmer's radio call of: "IT'S A SLAM, LIGHT IT UP!" That call still geeks me when I hear it and that's saying a lot cuz I hate Farmer. Pauly's was better.

Haha. I was the same way. I was just watching it here with some friends, but I went insane after PK's grand slam. No question, that was my favorite moment of the playoffs. I didn't hear the HR call until the DVDs came out.

I get goosebumps during every Grinder rules commercials this year. Especially Pauly's slam. I cant wait until I have the cheddar to buy the 5 disc WS set, im going to watch every game again.
April 30, 200619 yr Podsednik's homerun was the ultimate "up yours" in my view, and I enjoyed his homerun more than Konerko's. Both have a pretty dear spot in my heart, though.
April 30, 200619 yr Wasn't Pauly's on the 1st pitch? I just remember the second he hit it the whole place knew it was gone. Beer and popcorn and chips started flying a few guys even tumbled onto a pile on the floor, good times.
April 30, 200619 yr Author QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 11:49 AM) Wasn't Pauly's on the 1st pitch? first pitch from a new pitcher, the TV had hardly come back from commercials
April 30, 200619 yr Simply because of how much of a roller-coaster game it was, PK's GS is the biggest HR to me and by far the most memorable. I punched the damn ceiling as it flew over the wall in left-center. Easily the most memorable moment to me. Edited April 30, 200619 yr by SoxFan1
May 1, 200619 yr Got a 16x20 of that memorable moment signed by Pods himself, custom framed and hanging in my room. Probably my 2nd favorite piece of Sox memorabilia behind my signed Buehrle jersey. Also, of note, for those who collect memorabilia. Steinersports.com has a ton of Sox stuff from last season discounted. I usually refuse to buy memorabilia, but for those who do, here is a nice link: http://www.steinersports.com/ssm/control/k...ite+Sox&x=0&y=0
