AJ with the new batting helmet

Featured Replies

I noticed tonight AJ is wearing one of those new sleaker batting helmets for 06 that all the other teams are wearing. But I noticed only AJ is wearing it on our team, none of the others. I actually kind of like them, I wish everyone would wear em.

Give me the traditional helmet the new ventilation ones look f***ing stupid. :)

I like them on some teams, but I think I prefer the traditional ones on us.

They look like somebody put a sting ray on their heads.

Im sure they offer better protection then the old ones...if thats the case then we should be wearin em too

Actually, I believe they offer equal protection but much better ventilation.

Again a solid sig, but the year is 2006. :headshake :P

I personally do not like the new helmets. If they were made for protective purposes, then I would think it woudl be a requirement for everyone to wear them. I agree with sticking with the old helmets.

AJ's wearing it???

I missed today's game, but I was originally very proud that our team wasn't wearing the women's softball helmet.

I feel the same exact way, I've noticed more and more teams switching to these helmets this year and I was so damn happy that the Sox were sticking with the traditional ones. Hopefully it's just AJ who'll be wearing it.

If it's more comfortable for them, I have no problem with the helmet.

I don't have to wear it, and if I was in a position to have to wear it (being on a MLB roster), I'd be too happy to care.

those are some seriously fugly helmets. i'm all for changing the helmets if the change makes them look better, or safer. this helmet does neither. it stems from the company (can't remember who makes) not being able to but labels on helmet so they did the different design so it gets company recognition, seems like they chose the ugliest design so there's no mistaking them...

If they offer better venilation, then I say stick with the old ones. I prefer my team to be a little hot headed.

EXACTLY

I couldn't care less what type of helmet they wear. Just keep winning.

That'd be II.

Inside source says AJ will be donning power-lace cleats next week as part of a Nike promotion.
