May 18, 200619 yr Jon Garland. Back to where he was, before the Twinkies start. The offense comes thru late again. Bobby being Bobby.

Yeah he did such a terrible job of giving up homers to Norton and Gomes, that he only gave up 2 hits combined for Gomes, Huff and Crawford, their 3 best hitters. But you know, he still sucks and everything........

But you know, he still sucks and everything........ Its good to see him have a quality outing like tonight but he still is off to a very shaky start this year.
May 18, 200619 yr Great game Jonny, glad to see him shake out of his funk. Good win, now lets take the series tomorrow!!!
May 18, 200619 yr Jenks has been phenomenal of late. All star berth? Jon pitching like the Jon of last year is a great great sign. Nice to win giving Crede a day off. I bet Anderson ain't going to be playing much against righties the rest of the year.
May 18, 200619 yr QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 17, 2006 -> 06:58 PM) Its good to see him have a quality outing like tonight but he still is off to a very shaky start this year. Oh yeah he's off to a shaky start, I just get sick of being reminded of it every time he gives up a hit.

May 18, 200619 yr QUOTE(greg775 @ May 17, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) Jenks has been phenomenal of late. All star berth? No? He has a 7.11 ERA in May (not including tonight's inning of work though)
May 18, 200619 yr QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 18, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) He threw a great start against the DRays. His ERA is still over 6, let's not get out of control yet. It's progress though. In 4 out of his last 6 outings IIRC, he's only given up 2 runs or less. It's just a couple of bad ones which has his ERA inflated so much. So it's not like he's been pitching terribly all season long.

So it's not like he's been pitching terribly all season long. So he's been hot and cold. 4 awful starts, 4 sold starts?
May 18, 200619 yr QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 17, 2006 -> 10:04 PM) So he's been hot and cold. 4 awful starts, 4 sold starts? Look at the teams he's played, it makes those 4 awful starts much worse.

Well I was close, but you get the point anyway. But at least lately, besides the Twins game, his consistency has been much better than earlier on in the season. Let's just hope he can build on tonight's game.

Doesn't saying "besides the Twin game" sort of destroy any solid consistancy?
May 18, 200619 yr The pitching matchups and such set this series up so that we'd be able to win 2 out of 3 as long as we split the first 2, so well done boys and bring the series home tomorrow night Javy. Tonight we followed the formula perfectly, keep it close between the starters, get to the strong part of our bullpen by getting 6 or 7 out of the starter, pound their bullpen. Great job.
May 18, 200619 yr GREAT job JG. Perfect confidence builder for big Jon. It's time for him to build on this start. Good job by the offense. Good game all around.
