Garland's problem was giving up too many flyballs today. He's a damn sinkerballer, not Eric Milton.

I think the fly balls weren't actually the biggest problem. A lot of those fly balls were on pitches that were actually down that the Jays stayed back on and drove the other way. They didn't hit a lot of those for power, or really do anyhthing with them.

JG's big problem was that he kept drifting. When he was hitting his spots for the first 5 innings, he was fine. But he got killed on like 5 pitches that just sort of drifted a little too far over the plate. Those pitches to Overbay were just not inside far enough, for example. He had the right idea, he was just about an inch or two off on a few pitches, and the Jays just hammered all those pitches.

He's giving up too many flyballs this season in general. His G/F ratio is under 1 after these 10 starts which may have something to do with the OPS against him being over 1.

The offense got him a lead, and he didn't give it up. He proved to be a stopper today.

LOL! He s*** all over himself .......again......... today and got bailed out by the rest of the team.

More I see Garland pitch this season the more I think that last season was a contract year fluke.

Which shows the margin of error, Jon has on a lot of his pitches, he's got to be spot on a lot of the time, and how important it is for him to get that first pitch strike so he's not behind in the count.
