  1. 1. When somebody says, "I aced that test!" does it mean they got an A or a 100%/A+

This was the debate in one of my classes today. When I say I aced a test, I mean A+ 100%.

For me it meant a C+.

I've have to go with 100% as well. I just find it hard to believe someone can ace a test when they missed 10% of the questions or something.

Aced = not having to take the class again

It's all relative. Depends on who's making the statement. :D

When I say that I aced a test, I usually mean that I did really well on it. That usually means I got an A, but it could be A+.

Aced means something like 95 or higher

This is how I use it.

100%

11-11. I guess this poll wont answer anything.

If a course/test is going to be curved based on the highest score, then it's possible to miss a few questions and still wind up with the highest score possible

Does "Flunked" mean you got a zero? Nope, it means you got a failing grade.

Aced means an "A" grade.

from good ol' Merriam-Webster:

ace

One entry found for ace.

Main Entry: 2 ace

Function: transitive verb

Inflected Form(s): aced; ac·ing

1 : to score an ace against (an opponent)

2 : to make (a hole in golf) in one stroke

3 : to gain a decisive advantage over : DEFEAT -- usually used with out

4 : to earn a high grade on (as an examination); especially: to get an A on

Aced to me means any grade above A-.

Perfect means 100%

Aced IMO means that you recieved an A on the test depending on what the grading scale is. Perfect is a 100%

It's interesting to see this so close. I have always used ace in terms of getting an A+ on a test, but apparently my friend who said it meant A and fired all of this up in class was right...in a way. I'm still only going to use it in terms of me getting and A+. :P
