June 18, 200619 yr Do you guys think Jose could of gotten 20 k's today if he didn't get into trouble and threw a complete game?
June 18, 200619 yr I'd rather him get to 20 straight wins, personally. He has the stuff to get 20 K's, but he strikes guys out swinging for the most part. That means it will take more pitches to get guys fishing.
June 18, 200619 yr QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 02:22 AM) Even then I doubt it... Unless he could of faced Adam Dunn 7 more times...
June 18, 200619 yr I asked a question like this in the game thread. How many pitches did Wood and Clemens throw in their 20-K games?
June 18, 200619 yr QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) I asked a question like this in the game thread. How many pitches did Wood and Clemens throw in their 20-K games? Wood threw 122 pitches. I don't know about Clemens.
June 18, 200619 yr I saw the game on WGN Saturday and I must say Jose was PHHHEEEENOMENAL! Too bad they get a blooper to score 2 runs of him and make it 5-3 at the time.
June 18, 200619 yr If Pablo Ozuna didnt go 3 for 5, would he have hit for the cycle? /green Pablo has 1 career home run, i love the guy, but he\'ll never hit for a cycle.
June 18, 200619 yr QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) Pablo has 1 career home run, i love the guy, but he\'ll never hit for a cycle. Yeah, thats why I indicated sarcasm(/green). I dont think so either. The question posed is pretty hypothetical. No one would know the answer to that. One could start the thread with "Do you suppose if Jose was left in he would have completely collapsed and given up 5 more runs?". Who knows what would have happened?

June 18, 200619 yr QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) Pablo has 1 career home run, i love the guy, but he\'ll never hit for a cycle. With his speed, he could get lucky and have a ball hit a part of a pole or something, then see it bounce around and he can get an inside-the-park homerun. If Konerko can do it, anyone can do it.
June 18, 200619 yr QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 11:44 AM) oh, wasn\'t aware of /green in the online e-slang. well, if you see anything typed in green letters, that means sarcasm. Some people like to type out posts and leave them normal, then throw a /green at the end. Kind of like telling a funny joke with a straight face. People who havent been around for a while dont tend to catch on to it right away, dont feel bad. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 11:47 AM) With his speed, he could get lucky and have a ball hit a part of a pole or something, then see it bounce around and he can get an inside-the-park homerun. If Konerko can do it, anyone can do it. Or, he could hit a real homerun. He did it once this year....
June 18, 200619 yr I think it would have been very doubtful if Jose could have gotten 20 strike outs. Ozzie isn't going to let him pitch throw a lot of pitches in a game as we're going to need him the rest of the season.
June 18, 200619 yr Jose was a BRUTAL victim of bad luck last night. Other than the Lopez homer, he was a victim of broken bat hits and luck galore. And the Kearns ball in the 6th gets him out of the inning with a QS and a 3-3 tie if Pods doesn't get the worst jump of all time.
