Chicago White Sox third baseman Joe Crede has been named Bank of America Presents the American League Players of the Week for the period ending June 25th. Bank of America, the Official Bank of Major League Baseball, is the presenting sponsor of the American League and National League Player of the Week Awards, which reflect Bank of America's long-standing tradition of promoting and recognizing higher standards of accomplishment.

Crede batted .429 (9-21) with a 1.095 slugging percentage, four home runs, nine RBI and 23 total bases during this stretch. In Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, Crede went 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double and three RBI. He also hit a game-tying grand slam in the seventh inning of Saturday's game against Houston, in which Chicago came back from a 5-1 deficit to earn a 6-5 win in a rematch of the 2005 World Series. This is Crede's second Player of the Week Award (previous: week ending 9/1/02; .409, 4 HR, 11 RBI) and it marks the second consecutive week that a White Sox player has won the weekly honors, as first baseman Paul Konerko won last week.

Other candidates considered were Boston's Manny Ramirez (.471, 3 2B, 3 HR, 9 RBI); Minnesota's Justin Morneau (.435, 3 HR, 6 RBI); Seattle's Kenji Johjima (.500, 1.045 SLG, 3 2B, 3 HR, 6 RBI); and Tampa Bay's Aubrey Huff (.478, 2 2B, 1 HR, 6 RBI).

In recognition of this honor, Tourneau, the world's largest watch store, is proud to award the Bank of America Presents the American League Player of the Week Joe Crede with a Tourneau luxury Swiss timepiece.
